February 5, 1996 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Monday, <br /> February 5, 1996, at the Mooresville Town Hall at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Mark ~this, Toby Dolen, Jim Hensley, <br /> Andy Pygman, and Bill Wright. No mambers were absent. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright <br /> to approve the minutes of the January 22, 1996 meeting. Motion passed <br />- ~, unanimous ly. <br /> <br /> Ed Turner, President of Mooresville Girls Softball League requested <br />--'---'~ permission to have an opening day parade. The parade will be April 20th, <br /> begin at the High School and go down Indiana Street to St. Clair Street, <br /> go East up to Maple Lane then up Maple Lane to Main Street, go West to <br /> Conmerce Drive and end at the ballfield behind Newby School. Chief of <br /> Police Tim Viles approved of this route. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Dolen to <br /> allow the Mooresville Girls Softball League to have an opening day <br /> parade April 20, 1996. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> New Business: Sewer Availability Agreement Fees for Meadowbrook <br /> Park. This is a 15,000 square foot building with 25 employees. This will <br /> provide a 2.5 E.E.U. <br /> <br /> ~tion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to <br /> accept the Sewer Availability Agreement Fees for Meadowbrook Park Electric <br /> Company. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Councilman Dolen brought up Memorial Drive being made one-way. <br /> Chief Viles said to make Memorial Drive one-way would put a lot of <br /> traffic use onto Conmerce Drive. Council President, Mark Mathis gave <br /> Council members Dolen and Pygman the project of contacting the school <br /> to get their recommendations before the next Town Council meeting on <br /> Febraary 19, 1996. <br /> <br /> Town Attorney Tim Currens presented the Council with three (3) <br /> PlanCommission appointments to retain Tim C~m~mins, Tim Bennett, and <br /> BillAbbott. Tim Cunm~ins and Tim Bennett are employees of the town. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright <br /> to retain these three (3) people on the Plan Commission. Motion carried <br /> 4-1 with Councilman Hensley opposed. <br /> <br /> A Cemetary contract for the grave digger was presented to the <br /> Council. Changes are: (1) Using the town backhoe @ $130.00 each <br /> time. (2) Increasing price from $100.00 to $130.00 for Sunday and <br /> Holiday grave digging. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Dolen <br /> to accept the gravedigger contract for 1996. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> An an~nendment, ordinance #1, to the Salary ordinance #17, 1995 <br /> for 1996 included deleting town payment of 457-K, Town paying the 3% <br /> ~mployee contribution allowance for ~P~RF, deleticn of $350 clothing a] ]o~m~e <br /> fc~ .UtiLity, M~H, ~P, ~ Park Dspt. in ~eu of To~n pn~Jding uniforms. · <br /> <br /> Also in the amended ordinance, <br /> changes the Clerk-Treasurer requested pertaining to position and salaries <br /> ~-~---' of employees in that office. <br /> <br />~ Motion made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to <br /> accept the change of two positions in the Clerk-Treasurers office. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Councilman Dolen presented the three (3) uniform bids. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley <br /> to accept the cheaper bid from Mechanics Laundry.
