8.17 <br /> <br />Police Chief Tim Viles reported Officers are putting orange stickers <br />on abandoned cars. The owner has three (3) days to move the car. <br />After three days the Mooresville Police will tow the car. The <br />Mooresville Police have also started ticketing Solicitors that <br />do not have a permit. Soliciting can only be done between the <br />hours of nine (9) to six (6). <br /> <br />Councilman Pygman asked if the South Street Sewers were being <br />televised as of yet. The Street Department attempted to do this <br />but the ground water level was not high enough. <br /> <br />The Animal Control Officer reported seventeen (17) calls - six (6) <br />impounded - three (3) returned. <br /> <br />Park Superintendent Brent Callahan reported the Pool opening date <br />is Saturday, May 25, 1996, weather permitting. <br /> <br />Judge Paul Sterrett reported on the Check Deferrel Program. To date <br />the program has collected $ 7,810.00, one-half of which belongs <br />to the Town of Mooresville. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright <br />to not modify Peggy Edwards (street Department Secretary) pay <br />from the Non-Reverting Building Fund.Mrs. Edwards had asked to <br />change her pay from $400 per month to $210.00 per month plus twenty- <br />five (25) percent of the building permits issued for that month. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to <br />approve the payment of the bills. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Town Council at <br />this time, motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman <br />Hensley to adjourn the meeting. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Town Council President Mark ~this, Toby Dolen, <br /> Jim Hensley, Rnd Bill Wri~t, Vice President Andy Pygmanwas absent. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Jim Hensley, second by Toby Dolen to approve the minutes <br /> as written for the May 20, 1996 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Jack McGuire appeared before the Council concerning his building at 350 East <br /> Bridge Street. He has two sewer bills, one is for a well costing $79.00 <br /> (seventy-nine) dollars a month plus another sewer bill on the United Water <br /> Bill consumption. Mr. McGuire wishes to not have the $79.00 sewer bill. He <br /> requested the Town to cap off the sewer to the well. After much discussion, <br /> Town Council President Mark Mathis stated the Council will take a look at this <br /> request and make a decision at a later date. <br /> <br /> <br />
