-i.~ <br />May 1, 2007 <br />The Mooresville Town. Council met in regular session on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at 6:30 <br />P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />The prayer was givezz by Terry Crist from Mt. Gilead Church. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to <br />approve the minutes of April 17, 2007. Motion carried 5-0. <br />John Taylor, Morgan. County Economic Development Director, presented more CF-1's <br />for approval. Council President Tom Warthen spoke with the owner of Thermocore <br />about compliance and reported to the council they are connected to big industry that is <br />slow currently and they have a large turnover of employees. They had 40 w-2"s for <br />2006. Thermocore has added '$130,000 in equipment that is not on abatement. <br />John Elrod will not be applying this year. Council President Warthen talked to them and <br />the other company they were with was the downturtz of their problems. The building is <br />not for sale. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second from Councilman Dolen to <br />approve NuGenesis, Overton & Sons, PacMoare, Thermocore, and Toa, USA. CF-1's. <br />Motion carved 5-0. <br />Councilman Shields presented a report on a company, CGI, which ties local business to <br />Town of Mooresville Website. This company does the video and technical work. The <br />agreement would be for three years. Business ads would be around the Town website. A <br />motion was made by Couzicilznan Harris with a second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />entering into the agreement. Motion caz-zied 5-0. <br />Legal: A motion was made by Councilman Harris and second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve Resolution #5, 2007 for an alarm fluid. Motion carried 5-0. <br />A mation was made by Councilman Clark with a second. by Councilman Harris to <br />approve the contract with. CGI Communications. Motion carried 5-U. <br />Les Fanner, Fire Chief, reported to the council 5S% of fire runs are north of the current <br />fire station and 30% from Allison Road to Brookmore Subdivision. Mr. Farmer said he <br />found some ground north of downtown, but Councilman Clark felt the property already <br />owned by the Town located on Highway #1.44 would be the best location to build. a new <br />fire station. A quote froze last year was $750,000 for living quarters far eight people and <br />three to four bays. The building was metal sided and Somme brick porch covering over the <br />entrance. Council President Warthen wants a footprint and estimated cast. The <br />Redevelopment Commission would be willing to meet with the ~"own Council. <br />Councilman Harris told Mr. Farmer to get some better cost estimates. <br />There has been a little delay with the prevailing wage board for paving. Councilman <br />Clark said Northeast Street and alley needs paved. Council President Warthen told Street <br />Superintendent he wanted paving to begin as soon as prevailing wage is set. <br />Charles Berwick told the council that on .Harrison Street there is only dirt and grass seed <br />needs to be sown due to the installatian of new curbs. Joe Beikman said he didn't have <br />the manpower to da preparation of the soil and sow grass seed. There. is an MVH budget <br />line item for cantractual help. Councilman Harris wants Jae Beikman to check into <br />landscaping prices. The dirt zreeds tilled on West Harrison Street. <br />
