~' <br />Anizxtal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported seven kennels had been coated with the <br />new floor coverint; and twenty-two (22) calls, seven (7) impounds, six (6) returns. <br />A motion was made by Cottncilmaxz Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve payment of claims. M. and the <br />Mooresville Goverzuneut Center. <br />Town Council members present were President Tozn Wartlzen, Mark Harris, Toby llolen, Jolm L. Clark, <br />and Eric Shields. No members were absent. Town attorney'1'ixu Currens was present. <br />l,~any Diersing, Mt. Gilead Cltttrch, gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman (:lark with a second by Councilman 1]olen to appxove the minutes of <br />May 1, 2007. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Jolm Taylor, Morgan County Economic Development, presented CF-1's for Ambassador Steel and <br />PacMoore. A motion. was made by Councilman Shields with a second by Councilznan Clark to approve <br />them Co be in substantial compliance and approve the CF-1's. Motion carried S-0. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a seccznd by Councilman Harris to have Council President <br />Worthen pen a letter and sign it and send to the couztty auditor for Elrod Company. This is to allow them to <br />come back next year and ask for abatement and not file this year. If they come back next year they will <br />have two years left ozz abatement. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Johzt Taylor also asked the council if tlae cherry trees on Old 67 should be moved since the road was being <br />widened. Couzzcilman Clark will talk to the Park Department. <br />Fire 'T'ruck bids were opened. Pierce Global Emergency Pxoducts, Inc. $369, 500 with a pre pay option of <br />$8,972.00 discount if paid in full at tizzte of order. Lease payments breakdown to take under advisement is <br />$35,000 down with a lease payment of $57,602.60 per year for seven years. <br />KME Fire Apparatus bi.d was $344,072.00, $35,000 down and seven payments of $SU,898.58 per year. The <br />interest rate is 3.4% and needs to be taken under advisement to study for apples to apples. A motion was <br />made by Councilznan Clark with a second by Councihnan. Harris to take under advisement. Motion carried <br />5-0. <br />Kim or Tina Dyer was not present. <br />Les Farntex, Fire Chief, gave a fire station update to the council. The couzzcil received a hazzdout. of three <br />different sized statiozzs. He Izad met wiltz a local construction company and talked about a 140 ft. by 80 ft. <br />building, nothing done as far as design work, with tlzxee bays, living and sleepiztg quarters would cost <br />approximately 1.3 to l .5 million. The second building was 80 ft. by 82 ft. in size. The khird building was <br />rebuilding at the current location, a complete overhaul.. "I'he construction company recommended the Towtz <br />hire a construction manager to oversee the project. Councilman Shields asked Les who was doing the <br />calling and the research. Les is right now but later wants to get the firefighters involved. He will need to <br />get prices fox design work froze a professional. Council President Tom Wardten said he needed to go to the <br />Redeveloptzzent Commission to xequest funding for the design work. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Dolen with a second by Councilman Harris to approve the council president to go to the Redevelopment <br />Commission with the request. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Scott Miller, Umbaugh & Assoc., told the council the process now is to produce an ordinance for <br />wastewater increase and stortrz water fee for half of this year and the fee increase for 20Q8.
