~' ~;) <br />Jae Beikman, Street Department, told the council he recommended. they accept the bid <br />from Wallace Paving. It was the low bid. He said he also had found some areas of town <br />with deterioration of paving. Since the Redevelopment Commission is paying for East <br />Harrison Street from Indiana to Franklin Street, the council decided to do an additional <br />appropriation from Local Road & Street Fund fox $350,000. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to approve advertising and <br />expenditure of $350,000 from the L R & S .Fund. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Council President Warthen told the council he had spoke to Christopher Burke about the <br />drainage at Spring Mill, but he does not have an update yet. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Cauncihnan Shields to <br />approve payment of $9,342.79 far software for Mooresville Police out of CCI fund. <br />Motion carried unaniinousl.y. <br />Les Farmer, Fire Department, is checking on prices of software and computers like the <br />Police have purchased. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported 37 (thirty-seven) calls, 16 (sixteen) <br />impounds, and 10 (ten). returns. <br />Jahn Taylor, Morgan County Economic Development, reported visits fram several <br />companies looking at Fields property, Duke property; and Haught property. The <br />company looking at the Haught property would need improvements made to Bethel <br />Road. Mr. Taylor asked for two council members to meet with the caunty council and <br />Morgan County Economic Develapment to see how $ethel Road could be improved. <br />Council President Warthen tald him the tawn was lacked in with what they could do with <br />their resources in funding anything. Cauncil President Warthen and Councilman Harris <br />volunteered. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Harris to <br />approve payment of the claims. Motion carried unanimously. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shields with a second by Councilman Clark to <br />adjaurn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Tawn Council will be held on Tuesday, July 17, <br />2007, at 6:30 P. Clark, Toby <br />Dolen and Mark Harris. Councilman Eric Shields was absent. Town Attorney, Tim <br />Currens was present. <br />Tom Warthen gave the opening prayer. <br />A motion to approve the minutes of the July 3, 2007 meeting was made by Councilman <br />Clark, second by Councilman Dolen. Motion carried 4-0. <br />
