SOU <br />Wastewater Treatment Plant: Dan Tingle is moving forward with HNTB for a preliminary <br />design and specifications vn a UV Purification System. The new truck is in and they are making <br />arrangement to switch the tank from the old truck to the new truck. <br />Mark Taylor, Animal Control Officer, reported thirty-one (31) calls, eleven (11) impounds, and <br />three (3) retuzxa~s. <br />A motion was made by Councihxzarz Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to give <br />permission to advertise additional appropriation from General fund for sale of police cars, <br />$37,650.00 and $50,000 from Local Road & Street fund far paving. Motion carried 4-0. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen for payment of <br />claims. Motion tamed 4-0. <br />There being no further business tv come before the Town Council at this time a motion was <br />made by Couzacilznan Dolen with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Tawn Council will be on Tuesday, <br />September 4, 2007 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br />1 <br />September 4, 2007 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville <br />Government Center. <br />Tawas Council members present were: Council President Tom Worthen, Mark Harris, Jahn L. Clark, <br />Toby Dolen, and Eric Shields. No members were absent: Town attorney Tim Currens was present. <br />Jim Taylor, Grace Church, gave the prayer. <br />Council President Worthen announced this meeting as the pre-adoption meeting for 2008 Budget. He <br />told the council and the audience that in prior years the council had a total to shoot for the total of budgets, <br />but this year local option income tax was passed by the county and Umbaugh & Assoc. suggested the <br />council approve a higher amount than normal and let the Department of Local Government Finance <br />tell the Town what amount of money they can have. The growth levy is approximately 3.7% and the <br />Town advertised 5°/n. No one had questions from the audience or the council. <br />A motion was made by Mark Harris to enter into an agreement with Greg Orf from Risk Management <br />Program to train employees on insurance. This will be for three days. John L: Clark seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried S-0. <br />Student Council President of Mooresville High School, Clayton Smith, requested approval to close same <br />streets for a Homecoming parade in October. They will. use the normal parade xoute and contact the <br />Police Department. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Mark Haz7ris to approve <br />closing the streets far the Homecoming Farade. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Judy Atwood, Springmill Addition, appeared before the council for an update on the drainage problem. <br />She told the council she had contacted Senator Lugar. Council President Worthen told her the council <br />had received a letter back from Senator Lugar and he had referred the matter back to the Town Council. <br />Council President Worthen went on to say he was able to speak with the developer and he was willing <br />
