7~ <br />June d, 2004 <br />The Mooresville Tvwn Council met in regular session on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 6:30 <br />P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Town Council President, Tom Warthen, gave the prayer. <br />Town Council members present were: President Tam Warthen, Troy Bryant, Toby <br />Dolen, John L Clark and Eric Shields. No members were absent. Town attorney, Tim <br />Currens, was present. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Shields, to approve <br />minutes of May 16, 2006. Motion carried 5-U. <br />Councilman Shields made a motion to have an Executive meeting immediately following <br />the June 20' 2006, meeting to discuss some issues with the department heads, with a <br />second by Councilman Dolen. Motion carried 5-0. <br />First on the agenda was Mr. Jeff Quyle, of the Morgan County Park Board, requesting <br />permission to hold a 5 mile Marathon on the town streets on June 10, 2006. This would <br />be a fund raiser for the County Park Board; they have tried to stay on the county roads for <br />most of the race, but will need to use the following town streets of Bridge. Street, <br />Honeysuckle Caurt, Karringtan Blvd and Kingsview Drive. They will. anly close one <br />lane and will have txaffic canes with volunteers to direct traffic. They will provide the <br />volunteers and police officers. They will have police officers on Johnson Road and <br />Hadley Raad. They will have about 200 to 250 runners. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shields, second by Councilman Dolen, to approve <br />the Margan County Park Board 5 Mile Run for the Future. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Bryant stated there are a lot of trucks usitag Greencastle Road as a cut <br />through into town from State Road 39 and asked Mr. Quyle if the county would give the <br />town. pernaissian to put up signs restricting truck traffic on Greencastle Road. When <br />trucks get to the town limits and see the sign restricting trucks they immediately do a U- <br />turn in the Water Company's parking lot. There is not enough room far them to turn <br />around and they have destroyed their sign, drive, and yard. The signs going into <br />Martinsville say the trucks, should stay on all state highways and they say which <br />highways. There are some discrepancies on where the sign can be placed on state right- <br />af--ways. 'The Cauncil asked if the town could use the county right-af--way for the signs. <br />Mr. Quyle said that area was in Hendricks County jurisdiction. Mr. Quyle said they <br />could put a sign at White Lick Rd. and Mr. Bryant said the town would provide the sign. <br />Mr. James Purcell, Total Benefits LLC, was asking the Council for permmissian to analyze <br />the benefits the town offers their employees. They would ask for the employees to <br />complete a survey that would help them in their analysis. With thecompletion of the. <br />survey they would look at what the town offers and then gives the council the results of <br />the survey which would show what the employees would like. They have twenty <br />different companies they can recommend where the town could purchase their benefits. <br />They would complete this process every year. Councilman Shields asked if the survey <br />was only done after the town has made a cormnitxnent and Mr. Purcell said the survey <br />would be done before. <br />Motion to give Mr. Purcell of Total Benefits the go ahead with the survey was made by <br />Councilman Shields, secand by Councilman Clark. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Kari 1Vlann, Citizens Bank, asked the Council for permission to have a business after <br />hours along with the Chamber of ~,~~~tnes and apen business buildings ~~~~~~' <br />show to potential renters on Jul m o:00 to 8:00 P.M. They are working <br />with Zydeco's, who will be furnishing refreshment and drinks, and Chief Viles will <br />provide police officers for the evening. Councilman Warthen asked if alcoholic <br />beverages would be served and Ms. Mann said that Zydeco's would rope off an area to <br />serve the drinks and they have a catering license. She said there would be eight or more <br />buildings apen to try and get small businesses in the building. They would like tv close <br />east Main Street to Clay Street. <br />
