The next item on the agenda was Kathleen Freeman, daughter of Frank Freeman, also <br />known as Frank Inn, who was from Mooresville and went to Hollywood in the thirties <br />and became a famous animal trainer. He passed away two years ago and she would like <br />to donate some of his Hollywood memorabilia to the Tawn to display in the new town <br />hall. President Worthen stated that it is an honor to have him be from Mooresville and <br />the Council would do everything they can to protect them and keep them out in the <br />public's eye. Councilman Shields suggested that the upcoming volunteer project in <br />August might be a way for her to get some help with making an inventory of the items. <br />Attorney, Tim Currens asked lV1s. Freeman to send a letter to ~ ecord of her dona~ onat <br />she wishes to donate these items so that we will have a wntte <br />Someone from the Town will contact her when the new Town Hall is finished. <br />Next was. Judy Anderson, who lives at 132$2 N. Slideoff Road, requesting permission to <br />hook an to the sanitary sewer. ,She stated that she would be willing to be annexed into <br />Town. Her property is just south of the entrance into North Madison Crossing. She does <br />not currently have frontage to the sewer main. She has attained two estimates from <br />excavating companies to run her line. Both companies told her they would have to bore <br />under the street to get to the sewer. Street Commissioner Joe Beikman asked Ivls. <br />Anderson if they shot any elevations on it and she didn't know. Mr. Beikman stated that <br />he is sure the main in North Madison is not deep enough because it is only approximately <br />four feet deep, however the one in Dodds' development is approximately eight feet deep. <br />Nls. Anderson stated that if there was a problem with elevation and she needed a grinder <br />box that would not be a problem. President Worthen asked Joe Beikman if he could go <br />out and shoot elevations and meates shee of and see what t would take for her toshook an. <br />said he would look at the esh g <br />Under unfinished business, there was the issue of truck routes. President Worthen asked <br />Joe Beikman what had to be done to put signs on the highway. He said we would have to <br />get permission froi~a the State and give them specific locations where we want the signs. <br />He also said we will have to go through three different districts. Mr. Beikman stated that <br />the Council also needs to decide if they want signs where trucks enter from County roads. <br />Councilman Bryant counted fourteen signs mentioned during the discussion. Joe <br />Beikman also questioned the wording which says that trucks making local deliveries <br />should use the closest route and what eihl ~e~e~ 1 the Counc 1 said it wauldl howeverl t <br />this would pertain to trucks people tak <br />would not apply to lots that provide parking for people who take trucks home as long as it <br />falls within their zoning. Police Chief, Tim Viles asked that the signs be large enough to <br />be easily seen. Attorney, Tim Currens suggested that they have the first reading, <br />followed by a second reading at the next meeting, and then publish it to allow time to <br />finalize the signage. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shields, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />Ordinance 12-ZOOS for truck routes, as written. Motion carried S-0. <br />President Worthen told the Council that he had been contacted by Greg Cox, a local <br />businessman, asking if he could start a petition to keep the Mooresville License Branch <br />open. He told Mr. Cox that he thought it was a great idea and that he personally would <br />be happy to sign it and copies would be made available in the Town Hall. <br />Under Legal, Attorney, Tim Currens stated that the Council needed to approve the Fiscal <br />Plan and Ordinance to annex the property of Marthena Janelle Smith, which is the <br />property off of 67, where the nursing home and condos are going in. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen, to approve the <br />fiscal plan for serving the Marthena Janelle Smith property. Motion carried 5-0. <br />~~ <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Bryant to approve <br />Ordinance 13-2005, to annex the Marthena Janelle Smith property into the Civil Town of <br />Mooresville. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
