Motion carried 5-0.
The first item on tl-e agenda was the Concrete removal quotes for the downtown
streetlights. Councilman Bryant stated that he had received three bids. ABC Concrete
Cutting gave a bid of $6,300 to cut a 5x5 sidewalk square on the seams away from the
bricks all the way to'the street. All-Saw gave a bid of $220 per flag, which multiplied by
the forty squares comes out to be $8,800 to cut and remove the concrete but they would
require the Town to provide traffic control and barricades, if needed. The third bid came
from Midwestern Electric; which is the company that is doing theca Co ~ ~~an B ~t
Their bid was for $29,812 to cut, remove and replace the concret
stated he had tried to get a bid from a Contractor far the replacement of the Conpoo to n1Y
and had not received anything back. He asked Joe Beikman if he thought $20,
replace forty flags o~ Concrete seemed high. Joe Beikman stated that he thought $80 to
$100 dollars per flag would be more than enough. e fat ctha~ B would utdand r move
opinion All-Saw. would be the best option due to th Y
the concrete, which only leaves the Cost of replacement. He also stated that since All-
Saw's bid was per flag the Town would save on the cost of re Haas that urren y ave se
1PL has said they, will pay for the concrete removal on the five g
light poles on them. Councilman Bryant asked Joe Beikman if the street department
would be interested in pouring the concrete and if they had the time. Joe Beikman stated
that they could if .the Council decided to have them do that. Councilman Bryant said if
they could get a reasonable price for replacing the concrete by a contractor they probably
should because of the time involved. President Worthen asked if Joe Beikman should
talk to Midwestern; lPL and the other Contractors to Coordinate the time frame for the
cutting, removal and boring of the concrete. 'The Council agreed. to have him da that.
President Worthen also asked Joe Beikman to obtain Pricing on the replacement of the
concrete by a Contractor to compare with having the street department do it with the
effect it would have on their work schedule.
~- ,'
The Mooresville Parks Department was on the agenda bu`t-did not appear.
