Councilman Warthen said about f ve weeks ago the )"ire department had a failure on the <br />air compressor system that fills the SCVA tanks. Pro Air Company came in an tried to <br />fix the system, but they were not sure how long it would work. The system has now <br />failed completely. 1VIr. Fanner said he was receiving quotes on a new system. EIe said <br />there was i[~terest from the Brown Twp. Fire Department in sha[~ng the cost of the <br />system. For the past year the two departments have worked closely together and Mr. <br />WarChen feels that has been a plus for everyone involved. die has talked to Mr. Hornaday <br />and tlicy are in similar position with their air compressor. There is funding still available <br />in this years budget for the air compressor. Mr..i~ornaday agreed that it would be in the <br />best interest for both departments to share the cost for this equipnicnt. The air <br />compressor would be stored at the Mooresville Fire Department and set up so Brown <br />Twp. lire Department could fill their tanks on their truck. The quote was $27,549.00 <br />less trade in value of $5,750.00 far the two departments existing compressors He .feels <br />partnering would save half the revenue for the town and township taxpayers. 'l'he cost to <br />the Town would be $1.1.,774.50. Councilman Mathis asked Mr. Far[ner if he was OK <br />with the agreement and he said he was. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Counciltxran Warfl~en, to enter info <br />an agreement between the Mooresville Fire Department and Brown Township Fire <br />Department tv purchase an air compressor for $2].,799.00 and the compressor will be <br />stored at the Mooresville Fire Department. Motion carried 5-p. <br />1Vlr. Currens said he would draw up the enter-local agreenrerit. <br />Councilman Warthen said a question was brought up last week about the Methodist <br />Church and he has quotes for soma of the work they were planning on doing yet this <br />year. "1:'he first proposal was for the windows as per our speci:lications. The quote came <br />back at $98,880.00, which. we will have to place up for bids. The bid on the elevator, <br />which will be required by the ADA regulations, and the spritakler system, which is <br />required because of die size of the building, came irr low enough so we can go ahead with <br />Chem. If there are any question 1VIr. Beikrnan ca[[ help him answer them. There arc <br />funds available this year for these projects, but Mrs. Perry will need to encumber the <br />funds to carry over to next year. <br />_ Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Mathis, to approve the <br />quotes for the sprinkler system aC $38,875.00 Auld the quote for the elevator at <br />$48,670.00, with the money being encumbered fro[x[ this year's town hall budget. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />Animal. Control O1f[cer, Mark Taylor, reported (17) seventeen calls, (4) four impounds, <br />and (2) two returns. For. the yetis he had (5.12) five hundred twelve calls, (189) one <br />hundred eighty-nine impounds ~[nd (118) one hundred eighteen returns- <br />Councilman Mathis reported that klelen Humes,lVlargan Co[rnty EI~C Director, had. <br />received a ~vcry prestigious award, the top economic development honor of the state of <br />Indiana. Governor, Joe Kernan, presented. her with the aware of Top Leadership Award <br />of Economic Development Association- <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Warthen, to approve <br />payment of claims.
