914 May 19, 2009 The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. Town Council members present were: President Mark Harris, Vice-President Jeff Cook, John L. Clark, Ryan Goodwin, and Tony Langley. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim. Currens was present. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve the minutes of May 5, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. This meeting was a public hearing for re-establishing the CCD Fund. Council President Harris explained to the audience the fund was first established years ago at .05,but with re-assessment and other factors the Department of Local Government Finance had dropped it down to .0288. He went on to explain this fund had been used for remodeling the current Government Center, the salt barn, and other projects for the Town. Council President Harris also stated the Town was not pushing for any major projects at this time. Councilman Clark commented he could not see raising the rate to .05 and made a motion to leave the rate at .0288, a second was made by Councilman Goodwin. Motion carried 5-0. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clark for Ordinance 2, 2009 to establish the CCD fund at .0288 rate. Motion carried 5-0. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook for Ordinance#3, 2009, making the alley west of Carlisle Funeral Home one-way from the alley to the North to High. Street. Motion carried 5-0. Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty-eight(28) calls, eight(8) impounds and four(4) returns. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Langley to approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was made by Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Goodwin to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council is Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Governmententer. Mar Harri ounci President ATTEST: Sandra R.
