'963
Stanley Butrum- complaint about noise and dust from Carter Lee Lumber was next on the
agenda. Attorney Currens stated Joe Beilanan, Street Superintendent was waiting on the State of
Indiana to get back with him on Rule 6 permits. Steve Schroder, Vice President of component
operations for Carter Lee spoke to the council saying they have surpassed their obligations for
the Town on employment and tax abatement. They are working on an expansion plan at this
time. They have put down a calcium chloride treatment two or three times in dusty months at a
cost of$4,000 a treatment. Then Dennis Nail, Storm water Supervisor told them using a water
sprayer would be better environmentally, so they bought a water sprayer at a cost of$1,250.00
and on dusty days they have been spraying the road. They also bought and planted Norway pine
trees on the berm that will grow two to five feet per year. The storm drain stays clean and they
passed on storm water. The noise level was tested and the gentleman said the road noise was
louder than the building noise. They hope to be able to blacktop in the expansion plan. Mr.
Butrum will be back to the next meeting to check on the Rule 6 permits.
Matt Osch man from Telemagen went over a quote for IT services for the Government Center.
Included in the quote a flat rate of$85.00 per hour charge during business hours from 7:30 A. M.
until 5:30 P. M. No monthly recurring charges, and only pay for what you receive. No contract
length. Alternately, 1 year signed contract, $75 per hour during business hours. No monthly
recurring charges and only pay for what we receive. All rates include: free local travel, free
event monitoring of hardware, free quarterly audits of equipment and systems. Should the Town
need hardware, they will advise the Town where to buy it, or submit an equipment quote from
their vendors and partners to be approved by the Town. A motion was made by Councilman.
Goodwin with a second by Councilman Langley to have the council review for the next meeting,
Oct. 6, 2009. Motion carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve
pay request# 9 for Thieneman Construction for Wastewater UV Disinfection System in the
amount of$49,143.95.
