Brent Callahan, Park Superintendent,told the council the Park board had sent him to present some requests. An adjacent property owner has offered ten acres for sale to the park, but the Town would need to act rather quickly. He needs permission to purchase and seek approval on funding to purchase. Attorney Currens said the property has been appraised but the appraisal was not back as of yet. The appraisal can't go above the purchase price. A motion was made by Councilman Clark to approve resolution#12, 2011 to purchase the ten acres for$135,000 plus extra costs of between$4,500 and $5,000 with one half from Park Non-Reverting Capital and one half from Food and Beverage tax. A second was made by Councilman Harris. Motion carried 5-0. A motion was made by Councilrrian Clark-with a second by Councilman Langley to approve Council President Goodwin as signatory on the resolution. Motion carried 5-0. A;!imal Control Officer, ]!Mark Taylor, reported twenty-four(24) calls, eleven(11) impounds, and riim"Ol r0turns. Joy Sessing, Morgan County Ecoribmic Director, reported they have a certified shovel ready site in Mooresville on the Adams-VanWinkle sitd south of TOA. This makes the town have one of the sixty five shovel ready sites in the State of in&ia. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. There being no further business to come before the town council at this time a motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Harris to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center.
