It will probably be after mid December
before the procedure is complete.
A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Mathis to
approve payment of the claims in the amount of$62,314.99. Motion carried 5-0.
There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was
made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the
meeting. Motion carried 4-0.
The first item on the agenda was the approval of connection fees for Equipment Technologies
tabled from the November 15th meeting. Joe Beikman had suggested an availability fee of
$4,400 and a connection'fee of$3,600 based on the forty employees projected on their SB-l.
Equipment Technologies had asked that the fees be based on the number of employees at the
beginning instead, however it has been past practice of the Town to base them on the SB-1.
A motion to approve the fees for Equipment Technologies in the amount of$4,400 for
availability and $3,600 for connection was made by Councilman Mathis. Motion was second by
Councilman Langley and carried 4-0.
The next item, also tabled from the November 15th meeting, was the parking issues on Sunset
Manor. Joe Beilcman has looked at the problem with standing water and freezing and says it can
and will be fixed. That being said, Councilman Mathis would like to leave the parking as is.
Councilman Cook agrees but would like it fixed right away. Councilman Cook stated he would
also like to see the yield sign at the intersection of Maryvale and Sunset replaced with a stop
sign. Attorney, Tim Currens stated that changing a traffic sign would require a brief study being
done before an ordinance is passed and he will take care of that.
A motion was made by Councilman Mathis and second by Councilman Cook to leave the 1977
parking ordinance for Sunset Manor as is. Motion carried 4-0.
The next item was a request from Pamela Sterrett at 13892 N Ferguson Road to connect to the
town's sewer system due to an emergency situation with a failing septic system. She has agreed
to be annexed into town. Joe Beikman had checked it out and said it would be a simple
connection and the property has contiguity. Attorney, Tim Currens stated that due to the health
and safety issue with the failing septic, the Council could allow Ms. Sterrett to go ahead and
connect to the sewer while the annexation process is being completed.
