1050 <br /> August 21, 2012 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular scheduled session on Tuesday, August 21, <br /> 2012, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present: George Watkins, Council President, Mark Mathis, Vice <br /> President, Tony Langley, and Virginia Perry. Councilman Jeff Cook was absent. <br /> Attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> Jeff Newton, Minister of Free Methodist Church, gave the prayer. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilwoman Perry to <br /> approve the minutes of August 7, 2012. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Habitat for Humanity requested a street closing for their 5-K Run on October 13th, from <br /> 9:30 to 10:30 A. M. All appropriate department heads had signed off on the request. A <br /> motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman.Langley to <br /> approve the request. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Item#2 (Reed and Son pay request for Merriman Road project) on the agenda was pulled <br /> for this meeting. Need more information. <br /> A motion was made by Councilwoman Perry with a second by Councilman Mathis to <br /> approve an adjustment to sewer bill for Dwana Montgomery, 102 Meadowview Drive. <br /> She had an underground leak that did not go into the sewer system and requested an <br /> adjustment for her average for two months of$47.79 March and April. Motion carried 4- <br /> 0. <br /> Other business: A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by <br /> Councilman Mathis to approve a release to the Mooresville Times this evening of <br /> Council's response to an editorial in the Mooresville Times on the water system. Motion <br /> carried 4-0. (letter attached to minutes). <br /> No legal. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilwoman Perry to <br /> approve payment of the claims in the amount of$394,818.18. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br /> made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Langley to adjourn the <br /> meeting. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> The next regular scheduled town council meeting is Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 6:30 <br /> P.
