Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> September 18, 2012 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 <br /> at 6:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Members present were: President, George Watkins, Councilwoman, Virginia Perry and <br /> Councilmen, Jeff Cook, Tony Langley and Mark Mathis. Town Attorney, Tim Currens <br /> was also present. <br /> Gene Deverick of Grace Church opened the meeting with prayer. <br /> A motion to approve the minutes of the September 4, 2012 meeting was made by <br /> Councilman Langley, second by Councilwoman Perry and carried 5-0. <br /> The first item on the agenda was a Rezone of 650 and 652 Bridge Street from R-1 to I-1, <br /> which received a unanimous, favorable recommendation from the Plan Commission. <br /> This would bring an old structure into compliance. <br /> A motion to approve Ordinance 13-2012, a rezone of 650/652 Bridge Street from R-1 to <br /> I-1 was made by Councilwoman Perry, second by Councilman Cook and carried 5-0. <br /> The next item was the Interceptor Sewer Agreement for Design and Bidding with HNTB. <br /> With the Wastewater Treatment Plant project running ahead of schedule and below the <br /> contracted price, this would allow another project to correct some issues with the sewer <br /> collection system on the east and northeast parts of town and add some economic <br /> development opportunity. <br /> A motion to allow the Town to enter into the agreement with HNTB for design and <br /> bidding of the East Interceptor Project was made by Councilman Mathis, second by <br /> Councilman Langley. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next item was the approval of pay request#23 for Wilhelm Construction in the <br /> amount of$188,257 for the WWTP expansion project. It was sent to the Council in <br /> advance for,review and has been signed off by all of the appropriate parties. <br /> A motion for approval of pay request#23 for Wilhelm Construction was made by <br /> Councilman Langley, second by Councilwoman Perry. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next item was the appointment of a Council member to the County Public Safety <br /> Dispatch Agency, which is a board to govern a county wide emergency communication <br /> operation. The ordinance passed by the County allows for an elected official from the <br /> Town of Mooresville to serve on the board <br /> A motion to approve the nomination of George Watkins to the County Public Safety <br /> Dispatch Agency was made by Councilman Mathis.-Motion was second by Councilman <br /> Langley and carried, 5-0. <br />
