11% <br /> At this point David Moore had reviewed the paving bid and found everything in order. A <br /> motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Cook to approve <br /> the bid by Wallace Construction. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Next,the committee report on passing and turning lanes on Carlisle Street in front of <br /> Mooresville High School. Option#1-Move utility poles and upgrade lights - $8,000 to <br /> $9,000. Excavate and install 600 foot right turn lane on north side of Carlisle Street. <br /> Excavate and install 200 foot passing blister on south side of Carlisle Street. The cost <br /> would be between$35,000 and $45,000. <br /> Option#2—All of Option#1 plus a traffic study between$4,000 and$5,000. A Soil <br /> Boring costing between $2,000 and $3,000. The cost would be between$41,000 and <br /> $53,000. Report is attached to minutes. The committee is not sure if a soil boring has to <br /> be done. Fiber Optics need to be marked and it will be 4 to 6 weeks after IPL is paid <br /> before the poles are moved so that means time is running out for the paving. <br /> Councilman Mathis commented they could proceed with anything that can be done now <br /> and finish up in the spring. Council President Watkins wants a meeting with the School <br /> financial Superintendent,the school and the committee from the Town. <br /> There was no other business or unfinished business. <br /> Legal: the appointment to dispatch board was signed by Council President and the Clerk- <br /> Treasurer. <br /> A motion was made to approve payment of the claims in the amount of$394,604.46 was <br /> made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilwoman Perry. Motion carried 5- <br /> 0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Mathis to <br /> adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on October 16`x`, 2012 <br /> at 6:30 P. M.
