S
MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION
MINUTES
Thursday August 23, 2007
6:00 P.M.
The Mooresville Plan Commission met on Thursday August 23, 2007 at 6:00 P.M.
at the Mooresville Government Center.
Plan Commission members present were: Chairman Mike Young, Commissioners John
Ehrhart, Charles, Berwick, Charles McGuire and Robert Williamson. Commissioners
absent were James Logan and Darrell Brown. Town Attorney Tim Currens was also
present.
A Motion was made by Commissioner Ehrhart and seconded by Commissioner Berwick
to approve the minutes from the July 26 minutes as written, the motion carried with none
opposed.
0 Ross Holloway came back to the Commission for T 0 A, requesting rezone on Bridge
Street from.Ag. to R-3 Mr. Holloway explained where the property is on Bridge Street,
He showed pictures of the proposed buildings as well the exterior tile masonry wrap that
would be on the building. At this time Mr. Holloway presented the covenants and
restrictions, and the landscaping plans as well. Holloway and Associates worked with
Bridgemore in setting these restrictions. Chairman Young said that he did not feel that the
Bridgemore people are in favor of this plan. He said that they looked at this plan to
protect themselves if the rezone was passed. Commissioner Ehrhart said that turning the
building side ways to fit on the land would not be very attractive, he does not think it will
work. Mr. Holloway said that the unit would fit if it faced the road and would not need
any variances to do so. Terry Neer came forward to say that he and his brother Larry are
the developers of Bridgemore and when the came to Mooresville to look around they
liked what they saw in the planning etc. He said that they would prefer single a family
home on the land in question. He asked the Commission if they would buy next to this
project. Larry Neer said he is concerned about who would enforce restriction if and when
there would be another owner of this property. Mr. Holloway said that all the restriction
would go with the land and would be a zoning violation, if the restrictions were not met
A motion was made by Commissioner McGuire for an unfavorable recommendation to
the Town Council, the second came from Commissioner Ehrhart. The vote was 5-0 with
none opposed.
It was decided with a vote for rezone applications to go the Technical Review
Committee by a motion from Commissioner Berwick second by Commissioner Mc
0 Guire, the motion Carried 5-0 with none opposed.
R" mow N'k 2 r '; Y . , h' r C Y qi,.•&.r th q .F ,: ,u r ar vF.. . .,,,,,."'" •r,, " . r ,i.: *.s,-...;wr"r.'m, r m't,C,; :'3,',: V"4' t.z "k".'^;";"''w*e l'.",r.:..Wr r+w '!;'°ty, a q,,,.
