i <br /> ORDINANCE � , 1997 <br /> AN ORDINANCE REGULATING ANIMALS, FOWL AND <br /> REPTII.E.S WITHIN THE TOWN OF MOORFSVILLE <br /> WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Town Council to promote the general health, welfare <br /> and provide for the safety of the inhabitants of the Civil Town of Mooresville; <br /> WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Town Council to eliminate health hazards where <br /> possible and within its control; <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to regulate the keeping of certain types of animals, fowls <br /> and reptiles within the Town of Mooresville and to regulate the conditions in which these <br /> animals are kept for purposes of public safety and healffi; <br />� BE TT HEREBY ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Civil Town of <br />' Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana that <br /> Section I• It shall be unlawful for any person, corpora6on, or other legal entity to keep, <br /> maintain any one or more of the following within the corporate limits of the Civil Town of <br /> Mooresville: horse, mule, pony, goat, sheep, pig, potbellied pigs, hog, chicken or rooster, <br /> turkey, duck, geese, pigeon, cow or cattle, more than two (2) rabbits or other farm animals <br /> that are inconsistent with residential uses in an area not zoned for agricultural use. <br /> 4 <br /> j Section II. It shall be deemed a violarion of this Ordinance to display any type of exotic <br /> fanimal, reptile or wild animal in a public place without first obtaining approval through the <br />� Town Council. Pet shop displays would be excluded from this Secdon. The granting of the <br /> approval shall be based upon public health and safety. <br />; Section III.
