Review all development permits to deter- <br /> <br />mine if the proposed development is located in a floodway or <br /> <br />flood plain district as delineated on the zoning maps. If a <br /> <br />development permit is located in a Floodway District then the <br /> <br />applicant shall obtain a permit for construction in the flood- <br /> <br />way from the Department of Natural Resources prior to the <br /> <br />issuance of a local permit. If a development permit is lo- <br /> <br />cated in a Flood Plain District then all pertinent plans and <br /> <br />specifications shall be forwarded to the Department of Natural <br /> <br />Resources for their appropriate review and comment. A de- <br /> <br />velopment permit shall be issued only after a proper permit <br /> <br />or letter of recommendation has been received from Natural <br /> <br />Resources for the same. In a floodway fringe district the <br /> <br />Building Inspector shall apply the conditions of Article VI, <br /> <br />Section 2. Specific Standards. (A) (I), (2). The Building <br />Inspector shall ascertain and assure that permits or approval <br /> <br />required from the Federal, State, or Local government, if any, have <br /> <br />been obtained. <br /> <br />D. Review all development permits to deter- <br /> <br />mine if the proposed development is located in the floodway. <br /> <br />If located in the floodway, asure that the encroachment pro- <br /> <br />visions of Article VI, Section 2 (D) are met. <br /> <br />E. The Building Inspector shall obtain and <br /> <br />record the actual elevation (in relation to mean sea level) <br /> <br />of the lowest floor (including basement) of all new, or <br /> <br />substantially improved, structures, and whether or not the <br /> <br />structure contains a basement. <br /> <br />F. For all new, and substantially improved, <br /> <br />flood proof structures, the Building Inspector shall: <br /> <br />1. Verify and record the actual elevation <br /> <br />in relation to mean seal level); and <br /> <br />2. Maintain the flood proofing certifi- <br /> <br />cates required in Article VI, Section 2 (A) (2); and <br /> <br />3. Maintain for public inspection, all <br /> <br />records pertaining to the provisions of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />-10- <br />
