New and replacement sanitary <br /> <br />sewage systems shall be designed to minimize or eliminate <br /> <br />infiltration of flood waters into the system and discharge <br /> <br />from the system into flood waters; <br /> <br />3, All subdivision proposals shall <br /> <br />have public utilities and facilities such as sewer, gas, <br /> <br />electrical and water systems located and constructed to mini- <br /> <br />mize flood damage; <br /> <br />4. All subdivision proposals shall <br /> <br />have adequate drainage provided to reduce exposure of flood <br /> <br />damage; <br /> <br />5. Base flood elevation data shall <br /> <br />be provided for subdivision proposals and other proposed <br /> <br />development, in addition to the requirements of the Subdi- <br /> <br />vision Control Ordinance of the Town of Mooresvil1e, Indiana, <br /> <br />adopted June IS, 1976; <br /> <br />6. All on site waste disposal <br /> <br />systems will be located and designed to avoid impairment to <br /> <br />them or contamination from them during flooding. <br /> <br />Section 2. Specific Standards: <br /> <br />A. In all areas of special flood hazards, <br /> <br />where base flood elevation data has been provided as set <br /> <br />forth in Article III., Section 2, Basis for Establishing <br /> <br />the AREAS OF FLOOD HAZARD, in addition to the requirements <br /> <br />of the other sections of this Ordinance, the following stan- <br /> <br />dards are required: <br /> <br />1. Residential construction: New <br /> <br />construction and substantial improvement of any residential <br /> <br />structures shall have the lowest floor, including basement, <br /> <br />elevated to at least two (2) feet above base flood elevation. <br /> <br />2. Non-residential construction: New <br /> <br />construction and substantial improvement of any commercial, <br /> <br />industrial or other non-residential structure shall either <br /> <br />have the lowest floor, including basement, elevated to at <br /> <br />least two (2) feet above the base flood elevation; or in <br /> <br />-16- <br />
