Mooresville Redevelopment Commission <br /> 2003 Activity and Financial Report <br /> <br />Commission Members: <br /> <br />Dave Kollmeyer, Chairman <br />Jim Ellis, Vice-Chairman <br />Brian Nelson, Secretary <br />Jim Ransome <br />Mike Haskins <br /> <br />During the calendar year of 2003, the Redevelopment Commission held meetings on the <br />following dates: <br /> <br />February 24 <br />August 12 <br />September 17 <br />October 6 <br />October 30 <br /> <br /> The official minutes of these meetings are on file in the office of the Mooresville Clerk- <br /> Treasurer. <br /> <br /> Mike Haskins was appointed to the Commission in September 2003, replacing Norman <br /> Connell who had resigned following his retirement. <br /> <br /> The following attraction and existing industry expansion projects were reviewed during <br /> 2003: <br /> <br /> 1. NuGenesis, Inc. - The company purchased Lot 5 in the Flagstaff.Business Park <br /> for construction of a 15,000 s.f. facility for white goods recycling. Investment - <br /> $725,000; Jobs- 12 ~ avg. wage of $13.27/hr; Annual payroll est. w/12 emp. - <br /> $366,000; tax abatement - 3 years building only; 3 year unabated taxes would be <br /> $45,055 - abated taxes over three yrs - $15,168 - Amount saved/abated - <br /> $29,886. As of this date, the building is virtually completed and most operations <br /> are in the facility. A Grand Opening is planned for Spring 2004. <br /> <br /> 2. Nice-Pak Products, Inc. - Expansion of their production capacity with purchase <br /> of new equipment. Investment - $3,700,000; Jobs - No new jobs due to advanced <br /> technology - retention of 396 employees ~ avg. wage of $12/hr; Tax abatement - <br /> 10 years equipment only; 10 years unabated taxes would be $241,165 - abated <br /> <br /> <br />
