May 15.,- 2001 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Town Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy <br /> Pygman, Toby Dolen, John L. Clark and Mark Mathis. Town <br /> attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman <br /> Dolen to approve as.amended the minutes of the May 1, 2001 <br /> meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Helen Humes, EDC Director, presented a CF-1 and Sb-1 for <br /> Riverside Stone. These were not submitted when the other <br /> tax abatement forms were presented. She reported to the <br /> Council that the SB-1 form had been updated and that River- <br /> side Stone was in compliance with their investment up.and <br /> they./would be increasing their employees from eleven to <br /> .thirteen. Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by <br /> Councilman Clark to approve Riverside Stone.!s abatement. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> President Warthen announced he was Updating the council and <br /> Brown Township Trustee A1 Hornaday on the progress of the <br /> $75,000 agreement.~an~ ~th~i.C~erk~Treasurer is getting the <br /> information from the'State Board of Accounts on how to proceed. <br /> <br />Fire Chief, Les?Farmer reported the siren at the Town Hall was <br />repaired, but as of yet cannot be set for 5:00 P. M. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman <br />Dolen to approve spending $6,700 - 7,900 for H. J. Umbaugh <br />to do a rate study and $1,400 - $2,000 for a preliminary <br />financial Plan Project for expanding the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant. Motion includes the signing of contracts with H.J. <br />Umbaugh to do this work. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported thirty-four(34) <br />calls, n~ne (9) impounds, and seven (7) returned. <br /> <br /> EDC Director, Helen Humes, reported to the Council her top <br /> priorities were visiting with existing industries. She said <br /> she had visited ten industries employing seven hundred thirty- <br /> four people. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman <br /> Clark to approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at <br /> this time, motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by <br /> Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> The next scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council is <br /> Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at 6:30 P.
