November 6, 2001 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at <br /> 6:30 P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, John L. Clark, <br /> Toby Dolen, and Mark Mathis. No members were absent. Attomey'Tim Currens was <br /> present. Max Holzclaw from the Grace Missionary Church gave the prayer. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Clark to approve the <br /> minutes of the October 16th meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Judy Anderson appeared before the town council to request permission to hook on to the <br /> sewer on Slideoff Road. She told the council she lived across the street from North <br /> Madison Crossing where a sewer line is. The town has no one currently on the sewer on <br /> Slideoff Road. Building Inspector Joe Beikman doesn't believe there is a line across <br /> from Mrs. Anderson's home. President Warthen told the other members he would like to <br /> investigate further and table this to the November 20, 2001 meeting. Council agreed. <br /> Councilman Mathis asked Mrs. Anderson if she were to get permission to hook on to the <br /> sewer, would she oppose annexation to the Town of Mooresville. She told the council <br /> she would not object. <br /> <br />Councilman Dolen reported to the council he had talked to Joe Beikman concerning <br />hanging the Christmas Decorations the Town already has available. We now haVe a <br />bucket track to hang the lights and decorations. Councilman Dolen suggested to the <br />other members this was what the Town should do this year. Motion was made by <br />Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Mathis to use our current decorations. <br />Motion carried 5-0. Councilman Pygman said he wanted the wom flags replaced also. <br />Street Superintendent Beikman told the council the worn flags were taken down on <br />Monday and replaced. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to give <br />permission to advertise for an additional appropriation from the General for the money <br />reimbursed from insurance for the totaled car of Mark Harris in the amount of <br />$14,371.00. Motion carded 5-0. The Public Hearing will be set for November 20, 2001. <br /> <br />Legal: Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to <br />approve Resolution #4, 2001 to establish a Methodist Church Renovation Donation Fund. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to approve the <br />refund agreement with Mooresville Christian Academy for $72,282.95 from the <br />Developer Availability Fund. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve <br />Ordinance ~9, 2001 for no parking at Jefferson and Harrison Streets. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Mathis to approve a <br />Developer Availability sewer refund contract for Carter Lee in the amount of $10,685.50. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Building Inspector Joe Beikman gave the council a new schedule of fees for building <br />permits, etc. to review for the November 20, 2001 meeting. <br /> <br />Animal Control Office Mark Taylor reported thirty-two (32) calls, six (6) impounds, and <br />two (2) retumed. <br /> <br /> <br />
