Next on agenda, Michael Lundy 121 West High Street, needed assistance with public ' ~35 <br />transportation to his job in Indianapolis due to his disability of being legally blind. He <br />works at a blind factory in Indianapolis. His father had used to take him to work but he <br />had recently passed away. He told the council he wanted to see if funds could be made to <br />allow Open Door to come across into Morgan county to pick him up. President Warthen <br />had talked to Jean Chrisman and Annette Dorrow to find out if funds were available for <br />this. He found out that as of now the local contract had not been feasible. He said he had <br />talked with Jeff Quyle, county commissioner, and he informed President Warthen of a <br />lady by the name of Becky Henderson with the South Central Indiana Community <br />Program and co-ordinator with Aging Services and they have applied for a grant to do a <br />feasibility study for transportation for the disabled. President Warthen suggested that <br />anyone with a need for this transportation call the number he had to give input into the <br />feasibility study for the grant. Town Attomey Tim Currens told Michael that this is a <br />county project and they should show the need for this transportation and help with the <br />feasibility study. <br /> <br />President Warthen presented a proclamation to honor Bill Roberson, Mooresville <br />Consolidated School Superintendent, with his retirement. Motion was made by <br />Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to declare by proclamation that <br />December 11,2001 be Dr. William E. Roberson Day in the Civil Town of Mooresville. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Maths, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />completion of the settling tank project for the wastewater treatment plant and to approve <br />payment of final claim including retainage in the amount of $32,507.00 to Graves <br />Plumbing from Sewer Improvement Fund. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />encumbering funds for payroll issued on Jan. 2, 2002 out of 2001 funds. Motion carried <br />5-0. President Warthen told the council a transfer of funds would be at the December 4, <br />2001 meeting. <br /> <br />Legal: Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve a refund agreement from Developer Availability Fund for Carter-Lee in the <br />amount of $10,685.50. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve giving <br />consent to the attomey to proceed with settlement in a lawsuit against the Town of <br />Mooresville by Jim and Julie Remster. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Councilman Mathis gave a report from the Fire Committee they had looked at five fire <br />stations and that Carter Lee Co. had generously donated an acre of their land as a future <br />site for a satellite fire s~tion pending Plan Commission approval in their December <br />meeting. The Danville Station was one the committee liked and thought would be <br />economically feasible. Councilman Mathis told the council he realized they were a long <br />way from actual construction, but thought the rest of the council would be interested in <br />seeing pictures of the fire station the committee liked. The committee met briefly with an <br />architect. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve <br />changes in the Building Code Ordinances. Attorney Tim Currens told the Council they <br />were not only updating but following new state statutes. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported eighteen (18) calls, seven (7) impounds, <br />and four (4) retumed. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />payment of the claims. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, motion was made <br />by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to adjoum the meeting.
