' 536 <br /> <br /> December 4, 2001 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, December 4, 2001, at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> Town Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, J. L. <br /> Clark, Toby Dolen, and Mark Mathis. No members were absent. Bill Bailey from the <br /> First Christian Church gave the invocation. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman to approve <br /> minutes of the November 20, 2001 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> First on the agenda was a tax abatement request from Pro Vet Distributors. Jeff Sizelow <br /> was present, he is general manager. The company is currently in Indianapolis and need a <br /> larger place. The sell, distribute, and warehouse veterinarian supplies. The matrix <br /> system qualifies them for a three year tax abatement on real property and equipment. <br /> They anticipate a building cost of $1.1 million and the addition of thirty seven <br /> employees. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve Preliminary Resolution #7, 2001 for tax abatement. Motion carded 4-0, with <br /> Councilman Mathis abstaining. A Public Hearing for confirmatory resolution will be <br /> advertised for January 8, 2001 meeting. <br /> <br /> Judy Anderson, requesting sewer hook-on was not present, tabled to next meeting. <br /> Anita Coleman, concerning stop light at south 67 and south Indiana Street was not <br /> present. Tabled to next meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Mathis to approve the <br /> Transfer of Funds Resolution. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br /> Public Heating for Linel Tax Abatement: No comments from the floor or council. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br /> Confirmatory Resolution #6, 2001, for Linel tax abatement. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br /> Findings of Fact for the designation of an Economic Revitalization Area for Linel <br /> Signature. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> President Tom Warthen asked each council member to individually meet with Fire Chief <br /> Les Farmer before the December 18, 2001 meeting to discuss specifications for the <br /> bidding process for a new fire squad. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to accept a low <br /> bid of $34,730.00 for paving from Wallace Construction for paving of streets affected by <br /> sanitary line work. The streets include: Terrace Trails, Styleline Drive, Campus Ct., <br /> Northeast street from Maple Lane west to dead end, Sunbury Dr., Maryvale Ct., Sunset <br /> <br /> Manor, the alley between High Street and South Street from Madison St. to the cross <br /> alley. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported eighteen (18) calls, three (3) impounds, --~ <br /> and two (2) returned. '--' <br /> <br /> The December 18, 2001, meeting will be held at the Old Methodist Church. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman to approve <br /> payment of the claims. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br /> <br />
