545 <br /> <br /> March 2, 2002 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in a Workshop Session on Saturday, March 2, 2002, <br /> at 1:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to view <br /> drawing of the Old Methodist Church renovation. <br /> <br /> Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, Toby Dolen, <br /> Mark Mathis, and John L. Clark. No members were absent. <br /> <br /> The Stenz Corporation supplied a drawing of possible offices, etc. for the Old Methodist <br /> Church at no cost to the Town of Mooresville. They are in the historic restoration <br /> business. The architect was Mike Connelly. <br /> <br /> Leo frOm Stenz Corporation outlined a diagram of involvement on the project: Umbaugh <br /> (if bonding is needed), Architura (the Architec0, Stenz (Project Manager), and Stenz <br /> (Construction Manager). Leo told the council they would get bids from local sub <br /> contractors. Also, the diagram showed where possible monies could come from: Local <br /> government money, grants, and donations. <br /> <br /> Mike Connelly handed out office space needs with growth ( how much space is utilized <br /> now and how much space will be needed in the future). See the attached form. <br /> <br /> A sprinkler system for the building was discussed. A round-about figure of 1.5 million <br /> dollars for the construction was discussed. <br /> <br />After viewing the drawings and a lengthy discussion concerning construction, a motion <br />was made by Councilman Pygnmn, second by Councilman Dolen to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> m Warth~n, l~esident <br />ATrF_3T: <br /> <br /> March 5, 2002 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session' on Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Town Council members present: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, John L. Clark, <br /> Toby Dolen, and Mark Mathis. No council members were absent. Town attorney Tim <br /> Currens was present. <br /> <br /> Joshua Brant from the Mooresville Church of God gave the prayer before the meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve the <br /> minutes of the February 19, 2002 meeting with a correction in paragraph g9 changing <br /> Highway 267 to Highway 67. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> First on the agenda was Joyce Smith from the Downtown Business Association <br /> requesting East Main Street be closed from Indiana Street to Clay Street between the <br /> hours of 5P. M. and 9 P. M. on April 27, 2002. Councilman Mathis told her to inform <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, Tim Viles, Police Chief, and Les Farmer, Fire Chief <br /> of the event. Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Dolen to <br /> allow the closing of E. Main Street between Indiana and Clay Streets on April 27,2002 <br /> between the hours of 5 P. M. and 9 P. M. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> <br />
