124 <br /> <br /> Mr. Gamble was advised that the claim had been submitted to the town's insurance <br /> company for action. <br /> <br /> The Council opened the following bid for selling the wastewater treatment <br /> plant storage tank: <br /> <br /> Griffith Industries - $1,000.00 <br /> <br /> The Council tabled selling the storage tank to allow Superintendent Orme to <br /> review the bid. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilwoman Overholser iq <br /> to present a Contract for Purchase of Real Estate to Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Testerman <br /> for $53,000.00 for their property adjacent to the Street Garage. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> The Council accepted an escrow agreement for Roberson Woods Phase I from <br /> Caperton Development Group. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br /> to award the sidewalk bid to D. R. Childs Company in the amount of $28,872.00 <br /> contingent on approval of the Local Road and Streets additional appropriation. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> EDC Director Randy Haymaker advised the Council that the Town of Mooresville <br /> was not awarded a Community Focus Fund Grant in round two due to technical <br /> problems which occurred due to the state changing some of the grant forms between <br /> round one and round two. Mr. Haymaker received the Council's consent to apply <br /> for round three of the CFF Grant. <br /> <br /> Councilman Edwards advised the Council that the roof leak at Town Hall has <br /> reached a point where major repair is necessary. Councilman Edwards will obtain <br /> quotes for labor and material for this project. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br /> to approve the bills and claims. Motion carried unanamously. -~ <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at this time <br /> motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by Councilman <br /> Forbes. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held <br /> Tuesday, August 16, 1991. <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> /Clerk-Treasurer ~ <br /> <br /> August 6, 1991 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, <br /> August 6, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Pat Overholser, Steve Edwards, Steve Ballard, <br /> and Dick Heald. Councilman Jack Forbes was absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Peden represented Darrell Swinney in his petition to rezone property <br /> east of town from A-1 to R-1. This rezone was approved by the Plan Commission <br /> by a vote of six in favor, one opposed, one abstension. <br /> <br /> <br />
