126 <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Councilman Ballard <br /> to release $30,046.50 from the Roberson Village escrow account on the advice of <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman. Motion carried uanamously. <br /> <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman advised the Council that he had requested <br /> the county to repair a bridge on Crestwood Drive and a bridge on Tulip Drive <br /> from the county accumlative bridge fund. Mr. Beikman was recently informed by <br /> the county engineer, Steve Wagman, that the county con, missioners denied this <br /> request. The Council asked Town Attorney Tim Currens to request these repairs <br /> in writing. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilman Ballard to <br /> allow Mr. Stuart Ruona to raise money for Jerry's kids on Labor Day. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br /> to pay the bills and claims. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Town Council at this <br /> time motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Ballard, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held <br /> Tuesday, August 20, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Clerk-Treasurer ~ <br /> <br /> August 20, 1991 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, <br /> August 20, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Pat Overholser, Steve Ballard, Steve Edwards, <br /> and Dick Heald. Councilman Jack Forbes was absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bud Morrison, Post Office Director of Field Services for the Indiana- <br /> polis District and Mr. Jim Mennel, Post Office Program Manager for Indianapolis <br /> District addressed the Council and the numerous citizens in attendance in <br /> regard to curbside mail service. Numerous questions were asked by those in <br /> attendance. Mr. Morrison assured the Council that changing the door tO door <br /> service to curbside service would be strictly voluntary and any customer that <br /> does not want their service changed will not be forced to have curbside service. <br /> <br /> Mr. Paul Bryant, President of Mooresville Revitalization Group, Inc. read <br /> a letter from the Revitalization Group opposing curbside mail service and pre- <br /> sented a petition of 381 signatures in opposition to the proposed change. Letters ,-% <br /> from Herbert and Marie Dulaney and David and Nan Kollmeyer in opposition to the <br /> proposed curbside mail service were submitted to the Council. <br /> <br /> Council President Dick Heald read the following resolution to the Council: <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Civil Town of Mooresville <br /> that the Town does not agree with the curbside service proposed by the local post <br /> office based upon the complaints received from its local citizens and also based <br /> upon the impact it will have on parking throughout the Town of Mooresville. <br /> RESOLVED this 20th day of August, 1991. <br /> <br /> <br />
