194 <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to approve a roadblock for the Mooresville Junior Girls <br /> Basketball League for Saturday, August 21, 1993. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Rachel Ruona owner of property at 136 W. South Street <br /> appeared before the Council in regard to a sewer back up at the <br /> above address. Ms. Ruona presented a list of people on South Street <br /> and High Street which experienced water in their basements due to <br /> the storm of August 16, 1993. Mrs. Ruona also listed possible <br /> causes and solutions for the water problems in this area. <br /> <br /> Ms. Phyllis Peasley, 1184 Westwood Drive appeared before the <br /> Council in regard to the sewer back up in the first floor of her <br /> bi-level. Ms. Peasley asked the Council what was going to be done <br /> about this problem. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gordy Gamble, 565 A~lington Street appeared before the <br /> Council in regard to the sewer back up in the first floor of his <br /> bi-level. Mr. Gamble also wanted an explanation of what the town <br /> plans to do about the back ups which occur repeatedly on his property. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Kuptke of HNTB explained to all in attendance that <br /> the Town's engineering firm plans on doing an extensive investigation <br /> of the sewer back up problem. They will use data gathered by the <br /> town along with information HNTB has on Mooresville's sewer system. <br /> When the data has been analyzed they will make a recommendation <br /> to the town in regard to a solution to this problem. <br /> <br /> Those in attendence were advised by the town that all the <br /> names and addresses which had been submitted to the town, of <br /> people with sewer back ups had been given to the Town's insurance <br /> agent. The agent had assured the town that an adjuster will be <br /> in touch with them within the next few days. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to approve a roadblock for the Mooresville Firefighters <br /> for MDA on Saturday, September 4, 1993. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards, second by Councilman <br /> Viles to adopt Ordinance #5-1994 An Ordinance for Fire Protection <br /> Service Charges. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to adopt Ordinance #9-1993 An Ordinance Providing for <br /> the Inspection, Repair or Removal of Unsafe Buildings and for the <br /> Maintenance and Repair of Vacant Structures. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards, second by Councilman <br /> Heald to adopt Ordinance #8-1993 An Ordinance Annexing Continguous <br /> Territory to the Civil Town of Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman Edwards <br /> to approve the contract with Mr. William Abbott for professional <br /> engineering services. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman Viles <br /> to accept Fire Chief Darrell Brown's recommendation and approve <br /> the bid of Midwest Fire and Safety of Indianapolis for a Pierce <br /> Manufacturing Fire Engine. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to adopt the Town of Mooresville's 1994 budget in the <br /> amount of $3,086,386.00 as was advertised. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Ms. Loren Rooney of H. J. Umbaugh made a presentation to the <br /> Council in regard to Umbaugh's experience of Economic Development <br /> Income Tax backed bonds and lease purchase agreements. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to pay the bills and claims.
