February 18, 1997 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in a regular session on Tuesday, February 4, 1997 at 7:30 <br />P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />All members of the Council were present. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve the minutes <br />of the February 4, 1997 meeting. Motion carded unanimously. <br /> <br />Jim Ransom, Park President, appeared before the Council to discuss problems found with the pool <br />after closing in the fall. Among the most costly of the repairs is, fixing break away leaks, <br />replacing leaking valves and restoring the slide. There was also discussion about the possibility of <br />representatives from the park going to the Old Indiana Fun Park auction. If funds were available, <br />the park could bid on deck chairs, umbrellas and picnic tables. The total amount of funds <br />requested for pool repairs and the auction was $4'7,500.00. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to grant appropriation <br />out of the Non-Rev. Capital funds for repairs and purchases at the auction. Motion carded <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ron Shoup and Rick Farnum from the White River Environmental Partnership requested an <br />opportunity to meet with the Council at another time to explain the advantages of using White <br />River Environmental Partnership. Board members agreed to a meeting later and President Mark <br />Mathis wants to set up a time to visit the Indianapolis Plant. <br /> <br />Rush Addair did not attend the meeting. <br /> <br />Greg Howard, the new President appointed to the Library Board was present at the meeting. He <br />will be keeping the Council informed of events the Library will be conducting. Council President <br />Mark Mathis shared his gratitude to Mr. Howard for attending the meeting and for his <br />involvement with the Council. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to approve Ordinance 3 <br />- 1997, to establish a board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners. Motion carded unanimously. <br /> <br />Police Chief Tim Viles presented the new drug dog Barlow to the Council. Training the dog will <br />begin when he is more mature. He will be trained by the Marion County Sheriff's Department. <br />Barlow was donated to the Mooresville Police Department by the Houston Texas Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Les Farmer said the Fire Department is purchasing computer sol, ware. He is also <br />getting prices for the repairs for the water problems in the building. <br />Councilman Andy Pygman said Les has a request in for an Assistant Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported twenty-four (24) calls, four (4) impounds, four (4) <br /> returned. <br /> <br />Clerk-Treasurer Sandy Perry gave special thanks to the Council for the new computer system for <br />the office. Request was made for a resolution to transfer funds from GTC Unappropriated to Fax <br />Fee Fund in the amount of $2,563.23. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by <br />Councilman Wright to approve the Resolution. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Council will meet in an Executive Session on Friday, February 21, 1997 at 5:30 for <br /> Personnel. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to approve the bills. <br /> Motion carded unanimously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, motion was made by <br /> <br /> <br />
