February 4, 1997 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in a regular session on Tuesday, <br />February 4, 1997 at 7:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Members present were: President Mark Mathis, Vice-President Andy <br />Pygman, Toby Dolen, and Jim Hensley. Bill Wright was absent. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve the minutes of the January 14th and January 28th meeting. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A discussion was held between a group from Crafton Meadows, Mike Harper <br />spokesman, Ross Holloway of Holloway and Assoc., and Arvin Hopkins, <br />and Mark Taylor of Greenland Homes. The discussion was concerning <br />water flooding problems. President Mark Mathis reminded the group the <br />Town could not ~o anything to alleviate the problem but had <br />all three groups involved tRe time and place to discuss the situation. <br />After much discussion, no definite answer was forthcoming,consequently, <br />the Town Council continued on with the meeting. <br /> <br />Town Attorney Tim Currens presented a rezone for Bob Griffen-Jessup <br />Place- to rezone the property from R1Morgan County to R1A Mooresville. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve Ordinance ~1~ 1997 rezoning Jessup Place to R1A Mooresville. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ordinance ~ 2, 1997 regulating animals was tabled to the next meeting <br />to give the Council further time to investigate. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to <br />accept the dedication of the Streets of Karrington Phase 1 to the Town <br />of Mooresville. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Police Chief Tim Viles announced the Police Commission Board had been <br />sworn in. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Les Farmer announced the Safe House would have the donator's <br />names on the house. <br /> <br />Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported thirty-five (35) calls, four <br />(4) impounded, and two (2) returned. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to <br />purchase a Weather Station paid for out of Dispatch funds, if this is <br />possible. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley to <br />approve the use of Komputrol software for the Clerk-Treasurers Office, <br />Resolution ~1, 1997. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to approve <br /> payment of the claims, holding out Mooresville Tire and Holloway & Assoc. <br /> claim until further investigation. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> President Mark Mathis presented the possibility of Prescription Drug <br /> prices being changed from the .$3.00 fee paid by the employee to a <br /> $4.00 or $5.00 generic and $8.00 or $10.00 brand name fee to be paid by' <br /> the employee. No discussion was forthcoming so the item was tabled to <br /> the next meeting. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, <br /> motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley to <br /> adjourn. <br /> <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will <br /> be February 18, 1997 at 7:30 P.
