Motion carried unanimously. The State of Indiana has offered ~16,250.00 (sixteen thousand two hundred and fifty dollars) for nineteen (19) feet -approximately one- fourth acre easement to expand Highway ~144. This is property belonging to the Town of Mooresville. This offer has been tabled to the next meeting. Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Hensley to appoint Tim Viles as Police Chief, Les Farmer as Fire Chief, and Joe Beikman as Street Commissioner for 1997. Motion carried 4-0. Appointments to the various boards and the Police Commission will be tabled to the January 14, 1997 meeting. Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Pygman to retain HNTB Engineering services at their low bid of $16,000.00. Motion carried 4-0. The other bid was from Beam, Longest, & Neff, Inc. for$20,250.00. Chief Viles reminded the public of the need to get a Burglar Alarm Permit for their alarms for 1997 at the Clerk's Office. Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported thirty-two (32) complaints, fifteen (15) impounds, and six (6) returned. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley,second by Councilman Pygman to re-appropriate the EDIT money in the amount of $115,000.00 for 1997. Motion carried 4-0. Councilman Hensley made a motion, second by Councilman Wright to approve payment of the bills. Motion carried 4-0. There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Hensley to adjourn the meeting. The next meeting will be a regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council and will be Tuesday, January 14, 1997, at 7:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. Members present were: President Mark Mathis, vice President Andy pygman, Jim Hensley, Bill Wright, and Toby Dolen. All members were present. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to approve the minutes as read of the January 7, 1997 Council meeting. Motion carried 5-0. President Mark Mathis discussed the idea of a Long Term Disability Plan for all full time employees of the Town plus the Town Judge and the Clerk-Treasurer. This would also include Police and Fire until their 77 Pension Plan was in effect. The premium for the year is $7500.00 paid by the Town. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve the Disability Plan and have it Tut in ef.~ct a~ ~n as po~sib]e. Motion carried 5-0.
