Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman <br /> Wright to appoint Dr. Coughers, a Democrat, to a one year <br /> term on the Police Commission. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman <br /> Hensley to appoint Tom Keough, a Republican, to a two year <br /> term on the Police Commission. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman <br /> Hensley to appoint Tom Warthen, a Republican to a three year <br /> term on the Police Commission. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman <br /> Pygman to retain the Redevelopment Commission Appointees : <br /> Dave Kollmeyer, Charles Swisher, Norman Connell, Glenn <br /> Barron, and Jim Hensley. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />_~__~ Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman <br /> Hensley to retain appointees Bill Abbott, Tim Bennett, and <br /> Tim Cummins to the Mooresville Plan Commission. Motion <br /> carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> The two appointees by the Town Council President, Mark <br /> Mathis,to the Plan Commission are for a four year term and <br /> are Democrats Vern Kimmel and Steve Campbell. The Morgan <br /> County Plan Commission re-appointed Charles McGuire. <br /> <br /> Town Council President Mark Mathis appointed and retained Jim <br /> Ransome to the Park Board. <br /> <br /> Town Council President Mark Mathis announced the committee <br /> that was reviewing EDC resumes had decided on four applicants <br /> with two alternates. The Council President asked permission <br /> to set up an Executive Session possibly on a Saturday to <br /> interview these applicants. Council agreed. <br /> After a discussion on the Dedication of Streets in <br /> Karrington Phase 1 to the Town of Mooresville, motion was <br /> made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Pygman to <br /> dedicate Karrington Phase 1 streets to the Town. Motion <br /> failed to carry with a 2-2 vote and one abstention. <br /> Councilman Hensley and Pygman for and Councilman Mathis and <br /> Dolen against and Councilman Wright abstaining. This <br /> discussion will be tabled to the February 4, 1997 meeting. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman <br /> Wright to approve the sale of the property (nineteen (19) <br /> feet approximately one-fourth acre)to the State of Indiana <br /> with exclusion of any State's damage to our manhole by the <br /> State, that cost to be paid by the State. The Town of <br /> Mooresville reserves the right of way easement to our manhole <br /> and sewer line and at the purchase price of $16,250,00. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Fire chief Les Farmer informed the Council the Lion's Club <br /> had given a safe house as a gift to the Town and all we need <br /> to do is provide Insurance, storage, and the use of the safe <br /> house to other schools. Motion was made by Councilman <br /> Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to happily accept the <br /> Safe House from the Lion's Club and to provide Insurance and <br /> Housing. Motion carried 5-0. Town Attorney Tim Currens <br /> stated a nominal fee could be charged for our Personnel to go <br /> with the Safe House to other schools. <br /> Police chief Tim Viles told the Council the Police Department <br /> had a canine donated to them for drug sniffing exercises. <br /> Patrolman Yarnell will be responsible for the canine - <br /> housing, etc. <br /> Animal Control officer Mark Taylor reported fourteen (14) <br /> calls, two (2) impounded, and zero (0) returned. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at <br /> this time motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by <br /> Councilman Hensley to adjourn the meeting. <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town <br /> Council will be on Tuesday, February 4, 1997, at 7:30 P.
