The motorcycle association ABATE appeared before the ~ <br />board to ask the board to proclaim the week Of June 11-17, <br />1989, Motorcyle Awareness Week. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee <br />Edwards to approve the request of ABATE. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Dr. Charles Kelley appeared before the board to ask <br />the board to proclaim the month of May Foot Health Care <br />Month. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Overholser and second by <br />Trustee Heald to approve Dr. Charles Kelley's request. ~----~ <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by <br />Trustee Overholser to proclaim May 14-20, 1989 Nursing <br />Home Week. Motion carriea. <br /> <br /> Ms. Cindy M~k, 901 Edgewood Drive, Mooresville, IN <br />appeared before the board to inform the board that Edgewood <br />Drive had been posted no parking for street cleaning during <br />the time the Mork's were on vacation. While they were on <br />vacation the Mork's had left their car parked on the street <br />and it was towed. Ms. Mork asked the board to reimburse <br />the $20.00 tow fee. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Overholser and second by <br /> Trustee Edwards to decline Ms. Mork's request for re- <br /> imbursement of the $20.00 tow charge. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee <br /> Forbes to approve Ordinance #6-1989 an ordinance correcting <br /> Ordinance #5-1989, the vacation ordinance for Newcomer. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by <br /> Trustee Forbes to accept the Right-of-Way Easement from <br /> Allen and Sue Tutewiler off Park Drive to the Waste Water <br /> Treatment Plant. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by <br /> Trustee Overholser to approve the Preliminary Financing <br /> Resolution for sidewalk improvements. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Board Attorney Tim Currens conducted the first <br /> reading of Ordinance #7-1989 Ordinance Adopting the <br /> Indiana Fire Prevention Code and Portable Fire Extinguisher <br /> and Ordinance #8-1989 Ordinance Requiring Installation of <br /> Smoke Detectors in three or more family dwelling units and <br /> Mobile Homes and certain manufactured housing. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee <br /> Heald to continue the Town Employee health insurance program <br /> through the Aetna Insurance Agency. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker informed <br /> the board that Village Crafts and Variety Store will open <br /> in the Ben Franklin building. <br /> <br /> Mr. Haymaker suggested to the board that the following <br /> persons be appointed to a committee to develop the town's <br /> mini park located at the corner of Main Street and Indiana <br /> Street: <br /> <br /> Norman Connell Bill Finney <br /> Sara Jane Hogue Mike Fiscus <br /> Donna Brizendine Randy Haymaker <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee <br /> Overholser to appoint the mini park committee as suggested <br /> by Randy Haymaker. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
