August 1, 1989 The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, August 1, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. Council members present were Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Jack Forbes and Steve Edwards. Councilman Mike Fiscus was absent. In the absence of Council President Fiscus, Councilman Edwards presided over the meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. Carol We We of the Saint Thomas More Apple Festival appeared before th council to ask them to close North Indiana Street from Victor Drive to the north entrance of St. Thomas More parking lot on September 30, 1989 from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. ~r a bed race. Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman Overholser to approve St. Thomas More's request. Motion carried. Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman Forbes to accept the only bid submitted for janitorial service for town hall, that being of McMahon Cleaning Service in the amount of $175.00 per week. Motion carried. Bill Mc Cullen, 139 E. South Street appeared before the council to request a handicap parking designation in front of his home. Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Council- man Forbes to approve the request for a handicap parking designation at 139 E. South Street. Motion carried. A group of residents from Sunset Manor appeared before the board to report on dog problems on Sunset Manor. Town Attorney Tim Currens stated he would look into the town ordinances on dogs and inform the residents of his findings. Mrs. Dave White, 811 Westbrook Drive,enquired of the status of her claim for sewer damage to her basement. The board informed her the claim has been submitted to the town's insurance agent. Motion was made by councilman Heald and second by Councilman Forbes to allow Robert Bingham to cut the alley behind Pink Front Laundry for a sewer line. Motion carried. Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Council- man Forbes to approve the Order Vacating a Public Way on Hadley Street. Motion carried. Motion was made by Councilman Forbes and second by Councilwoman Overholser to approve the Resolution for the following transfer of funds: SEEPAGE54. Motion Carried. Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman Overholser to advise Mr. Kenneth Welty of North Indiana Street that the town did not approve the storm drain which he installed and if drainage problems arise due to the storm drain the homeowner will be responsible. It will also be the responsibility of the property owner
