August 1, 1989 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held <br /> Tuesday, August 1, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Jack <br /> Forbes and Steve Edwards. Councilman Mike Fiscus was absent. <br /> <br /> In the absence of Council President Fiscus, Councilman Edwards <br /> presided over the meeting. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Carol We We of the Saint Thomas More Apple Festival appeared <br /> before th council to ask them to close North Indiana Street from <br /> Victor Drive to the north entrance of St. Thomas More parking lot <br /> on September 30, 1989 from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. ~r a bed <br /> race. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to approve St. Thomas More's request. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman <br /> Forbes to accept the only bid submitted for janitorial service <br /> for town hall, that being of McMahon Cleaning Service in the <br /> amount of $175.00 per week. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Bill Mc Cullen, 139 E. South Street appeared before the council <br /> to request a handicap parking designation in front of his home. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Council- <br /> man Forbes to approve the request for a handicap parking designation <br /> at 139 E. South Street. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> A group of residents from Sunset Manor <br /> appeared <br /> before <br /> the <br /> board to report on dog problems on Sunset Manor. Town Attorney <br /> Tim Currens stated he would look into the town ordinances on dogs <br /> and inform the residents of his findings. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Dave White, 811 Westbrook Drive,enquired of the status <br />of her claim for sewer damage to her basement. The board informed <br />her the claim has been submitted to the town's insurance agent. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by councilman Heald and second by Councilman <br />Forbes to allow Robert Bingham to cut the alley behind Pink Front <br />Laundry for a sewer line. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Council- <br />man Forbes to approve the Order Vacating a Public Way on Hadley <br />Street. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Forbes and second by Councilwoman <br />Overholser to approve the Resolution for the following transfer of <br />funds: <br /> <br /> SEEPAGE54. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman <br />Overholser to advise Mr. Kenneth Welty of North Indiana Street that <br />the town did not approve the storm drain which he installed and if <br />drainage problems arise due to the storm drain the homeowner will be <br />responsible. It will also be the responsibility of the property owner <br /> <br /> <br />
