574 <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported eighteen (18) calls, five (5) impounds, <br />and four (4) returned. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman for payment of <br />the claims. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday, November 5, 2002, <br />at 6:30 PM at the Mooresville Town Hall in the conference room. Perry, Clerk- Treasurer <br />The Mooresville Town Council met on Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at 6:30 P. M. at the <br />Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Council members present: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, John L. Clark, and <br />Mark Mathis. Council member Toby Dolen was absent due to Election Day <br />responsibilities. Town attorney Tim Currens Was present. <br />Keith Kotesky of the Community Church gave the invocation. <br />Fast on the agenda was the opening of Fire Rescue Truck bids. The Clerk's office was <br />closed due to the election being held in the Town Hall, so the mail was not picked up. <br />Mr. Currens said to be fair to everyone the council needed to hold the bids received and <br />pick up any possible mailed bids on Wednesday and to set a meeting to open all bids. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Mathis to call a meeting <br />on Friday, November 8, 2002 at 12:00 Noon to open the bids. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Next item on the agenda was a rezone for Richard Jones, Valley Motors, located on <br />Highway 67. This property is now a B -3 and Mr. Jones is requesting a rezone to I -1 to be <br />in compliance with the surrounding properties. The Plan Commission had recommended <br />the Town Council approve the request by a vote of 7 -0. Motion was made by <br />Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman to approve the rezone. Motion <br />carried 4 -0. <br />The Town Council reviewed a letter from Quality Inns for a request for Availability Fees <br />to be set. Building Inspector Joe Beikman gave the following fee: <br />Availability Fees $ 21,120.00 <br />Connection Fees $17,280.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Pygman to approve <br />the above fees. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />Next, President Warthen presented a new map with new ward lines drawn. He told the <br />council that the current Ward 5 was now very large and the lines needed redrawn. <br />Councilman Pygman wanted time to study the map thoroughly but Councilman Mathis <br />said he thought there was a deadline to be met. President Warthen told the council that <br />November 8, 2002 was the deadline. Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second <br />by Councilman Pygman to approve Ordinance 7, 2002 which incorporates this map as <br />new ward lines. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Mathis, second by Councilman Clark to nominate Jim <br />Ellis and Jim Ransome to the Prevailing Wage Commission to set a wage scale for the <br />new roof on the Old Methodist Church.
