MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> APRIL 24, 2008 <br /> The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session April 24, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at, <br /> the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Commissioners present were, Chairman Mike Young, Commissioners James Logan, <br /> Perry King, Charles Berwick, John Ehrhart,Darrell Brown and Robert Williams. Town <br /> Attorney Tim Currens was also present to; t� "a�++s � <br /> Chairman,Young asked for a motion on the minutes from March 27, 2008, <br /> Commissioner Berwick, motioned to accept the minutes with spelling corrections <br /> mentioned, Commissioner Ehrhart seconded the motion. The motion carried 7-0 with <br /> none opposed. <br /> 411 The first matter of business was the dust and noise complaint by Stanley Butrum about <br /> Carter Lee Lumber operations. Stephen Stroder was representing Carter Lee, Chairman <br /> Young read several parts of the minutes from the meeting at the time of the approval of <br /> the project, (a copy of minutes read concerning dust control and operating are attached) <br /> Mr. Stroder, addressed the commission saying that the minutes read were accurate for the <br /> most part, Mr. Stroder said he made it clear that they would be a 24 hour operation, he <br /> also said that at that time he had said that it would be around 4 years before becoming 24 <br /> hours,they are not now after years a 24 hour operation, there has been times when they <br /> were very busy that 24 hours were ran but most of the time 10 or 12 hour shifts are <br /> running at this time. Mr. Stroder said that there is a lot of dust because the soft rock in <br /> this area then he is used to, he said that the first year they put down some dust control <br /> down and that it worked very well. After that with their business growing he just forgot <br /> about it. He and Mr. Butrum had a meeting a while back had a meeting and they(Carter <br /> Lee) felt that they were doing pretty good. They discussed the mowing of field because of <br /> Mr. Butrums allergies. He said that they plan on putting calcium chloride down every six <br /> months; he also said that May 3rd has been scheduled for the next treatment. Mr. Stroder <br /> said when the Butrums came in they immediately took care of the dust. Mr. Stroder also <br /> said that they wanted to expand this operation, if people want them here. They have <br /> purchased a company in Ohio and Kentucky. Chairman Young asked the Commissioners <br /> if they had any questions, Commissioner Williamson commented that when the doors are <br /> open the noise is the same as being outside, Mr. Stroder said the when the Butrums <br /> brought this to his attention,he told the Butrums that the doors would be closed at night <br /> 410. even in the summer when it is hot.
