~=l" A motion tv approve the minutes of the March 18, 2008 meeting was made by <br />Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Langley. Motion carried 4-0. <br />The first item on the agenda was Nina Langley; requesting permission to paint footprints <br />on North Indiana Street from the 4-way stop at Carlisle to the high school football field, <br />for Relay for Life June 6-7. Sherwin Williams is donating the paint again this year. Mrs. <br />Langley asked if the Council would object to them using a different color this year, <br />instead of purple, which has been used in the past. Street Commissioner, Joe Beikman <br />asked only that they stay away from. yellow or white since they are used in normal street <br />markings. Joe Beikman also stated that the street department would paint the footprints <br />for them as they have in the past. <br />A motion to approve the painting of the footprints on North Indiana Street was made by <br />Councilman Goodwin, second by Councilman Clark: Motion carried 4-0. <br />The next item on the agenda was Community Video seeking approval of the letter to the <br />community to sell. advertising space on the Town's website. Councilman Goodwin <br />explained that this was a contract entered into by the previous Council. His only <br />recommendation was to change the wording on the letter from "City" of Mooresville to <br />"Town". <br />A motion to approve the letter from Comhunity Video with the changes indicated was <br />made by Councilman Goodwin, second by Councilman Langley. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Under legal, Attorney, Tim Currens presented the Council with an amendment to the <br />Salary Ordinance, (17-2007), to allow Town Judge, Susan Lieb to hire a part time <br />assistant, starting at $10.00 per hour. One of the .current clerk's has reduced her hours, <br />causing a need for additional help in the office. <br />A motion to approve Ordinance 4-2008, an amendment to the Salary Ordinance, was <br />made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Langley. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Attorney, Tim Currens also presented the Council with Ordinance 5-2008, which <br />establishes the Town Legislative Body Districts, and amends Ordinance 7-2002, to <br />include areas that have been annexed. <br />A motion to approve Ordinance 5-2008 was made by Councilman Clazk, second by <br />Councilman Langley. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Fire Chief, Les Farmer, xeported that the new engine went rota service last week. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty (20) calls, eight (8) impounds and <br />four (4) returns. <br />A motion for approval of payment of claims was made by Councilman Clazk, second by <br />Councilman Goodwin. Motion carried 4-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting.
