_8. <br />Under Legal, Attorney Tim Currens stated that he had received the contract from Edwards- <br />Ridgon on the new Fire Department and he would get those out to the council members to <br />review before the next meeting. He also has the wage scale for the fire department construction <br />and paving bids. These will be discussed at the next meeting. <br />Tim Currens also presented the Council with a form that could be used when someone is <br />requesting a street closing permit which would requixe the applicant to contact the police, fire <br />and street departments and have the department heads to sign off on it and/or make comments. It <br />would also include the applicant's contact information, date and time, etc. to help simplify things <br />before the Council approves it. <br />A motion to approve the form for street closing requests was made by Councilman Clark, second <br />by Councilman. Langley. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Tim Currens asked the Council to approve the appointment,of Brian Anderson to the Plan <br />Commission since he is a Town employee. <br />A anotion to accept the appointment of Brian Anderson to the Plan Conunission was made by <br />Councihnan Clark, second by Councilman Cook. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Fire Chief, Les Farmer stated that he had received a call from Brian Turley ofEdwards-Ridgon <br />stating that the adverting for bids would begin next week, apre-construction meeting was <br />scheduled for July 15~' and bids packages will be opened on July 24t'`. <br />Street Superintendent, Joe Beikman stated that he had a message on his answering machine <br />asking to extend the street closing on July 12th that was approved at the June 17th meeting to 6:OU <br />p.m. instead of 5:00. <br />A motion to extend the street closing on July 12a' to 6:00 p.m. was made by Councilman Clark, <br />second by Councilman Langley. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported 30 calls, 5 impounds and 2 returns. <br />A motion to approve the payment of claims was made by Councilman Clark, second by <br />Councilman Cook. Motion carried 4-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. Motion was second by Councilman Langley and <br />carried 4-0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will beheld on Tuesday, July 1 S, 2008 <br />beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />1V1 c orris, ncx.
