8 <br />August 19, 2008 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 6:30 P. <br />1V1. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Town Council members present were: President Mark Harris, Vice-President Jeff Cook, John L. <br />Clark, Tony Langley, and Ryan Gaodwin. No members were absent. Tawn attorney Tim <br />Currens was present. <br />Jim Taylor, Grace Church, gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve <br />minutes of August 5, 2008 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br />David Stegman, Roberson Woods Neighborhood Association, requested a road closing for a <br />Block Party. The permit was completed to block off a portion of Redwood Lane for Sept 6, <br />beginning at 1:00 P. M. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman <br />Goodwin to approve. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Silly Burnett did not appear before the council. <br />Ross Holloway, Holloway Engineering, appeared before the council to discuss access road for <br />Indy Tractor on the Adams PUD off of South Pleiades Drive across from TOA, USA. The Plan <br />Commission Tech Review is seeking council approval to replat Lot 4 into two lots opposite of <br />the driveway that was to Woods Wire. John Taylor has talked to TOA about this and they are in <br />agreement with proceeding with this. The replat would include a fi0 foot easement and would <br />create Block B and Block C. Tawn Council approval is needed before this can go to the Plan <br />Commission. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to <br />approve. Motion carried 5-0. Town attorney Tim Currens will prepare a letter of approval from <br />the Town Council. <br />John Taylor, Morgan County Economic Development Corporation, presented the abatement far <br />I.,inEl Signature. This is a Public Hearing on a five year abatement on equipment. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clazk to approve Confirmatory <br />Resolution #9, 2008 approving the five year abatement on equipment. Motion carried 5-0. <br />John Taylor also presented two companies CF-1's. At the time of the other Cf'-1 approvals by <br />the Town Cauncil Ambassador Steel and Nice-Pak were going through big changes and have <br />now brought forward their CF-1's. Both companies aze in substantial compliance. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve the CF-1's for <br />tax abatements. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Dave Moore, Utility Department Supervisor, presented two more quotes for a Bobcat. One was <br />$51,818.00 from Bobcat of Lafayette, In anal the other was $51,27GA0 from Bobcat of Anderson, <br />In. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to <br />approve the originally received quote from Indy Bobcat for $47,528.00 with a trade in of the old <br />one of $4,000 making a total of $43,528.00 being the cheapest. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Chris Gale from HNTB presented the construction cost for UV Disinfection project and <br />rehabbing clarifiers. The council had decided to use UV instead of chlorine because chlorine is <br />dangerous and could explode causing a lot of destruction. The bid process will cost $22,000 and <br />construction cost $1,300,000.00. The total cost is not known as of now. The Redevelopment <br />Commission has committed to 27% of total cost of project. A motion was made to appoint Jim <br />Ransome and Greg Swinney to the Gammon construction wage board. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Tony Langley reported to the council that Wastewater needed additional workers. <br />Dan Tingle, Wastewater Superintendent and he want to begin the hiring process for two new <br />employees.. A motion was made by Councihman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clark <br />to approve hiring two new employees. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Dave Moore, Utility Department Supervisor, appeared before the council to request hiring <br />Dennis Nail as Stormwater Inspector at $35,000 per year and the job description will be <br />discussed when the council works the Starmwater budget for 2009. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clazk to approve salaried position of <br />Stormwater Inspector at $35,000 a year and to amend the salary ordinance. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
