Kevin Schulte's, Mooresville Fire Department, spoke before the council saying he would like <br />for the council to look at a merger again. He said they were going to allow for mutual aid and he <br />thought the Town would take enough money away from Brown Township that they wouldn't be <br />able to survive. <br />Howard Pritchard, Brown Township Advisory Board, living at 146 Fountain Drive, spoke before <br />the council saying that he was, the only person currently who held office in 1983 when Life Star <br />.Ambulance began. He gave a history lesson on past merger talks and fire territory talks. <br />Next, General Walker appeared before the council for three reasons. First, the Park Board had <br />turned down a Civil War re-enactment for next year. They had cut down the money for there- <br />enactment this year but they came in under budget. The General said he was hurt that one of his <br />sponsors was not let in at the gate by a young boy volunteer from the park and he wanted to see <br />if the council would write a letter to the sponsor and apologize to them for the attitude an the <br />volunteer. He also gave a personal experience about ambulance time to get to him when he had <br />a stroke, it took 26 minutes to get to him and another 30 minutes to get to the hospital. He said <br />response time is what it is all about. <br />Les Farmer, Fire Chief, reported some walls were up on the new station and they are a little <br />ahead of schedule at this point. <br />Mark Taylor, Animal Control Officer, reported eighteen (18) calls, nine (9) impounds, and six <br />(6) returns. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve <br />payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br />There being no further business to came before the council at the time, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to adjourn the meeting. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will beheld on Tuesday, November 4, <br />Election Day, at 6:3U P. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br />November 4, 2008 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 6:30 P. <br />M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Town Council members present were: President Mark Harris, Vice-President Jeff Cook, John L. <br />Clark, Ryan Goodwin, and Tony Langley. Town. attorney Tirn Currens was present. <br />Marianne Hawkins, St. Thomas More Church, gave the invocation. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve <br />minutes of October 21, 2008. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Chris Gale, HNTB, announced Thieneman Construction was the lowest bidder far the W <br />Project at.the Wastewater plant. A motion was made by Councilman Coak with a second by <br />Councilman Clark to award the bid to Thieneman Construction and sign the agreement and a <br />notice to proceed immediately with the project. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Rollaway & Assoc. was a no show. <br />
