.Q Couzzcilznan Langley's recozxzznendation was to approach the township for talks; this is an <br />C~?~ advisement not a motion. Councilman Goodwin agreed and Councilman Cook was in favor of <br />talking to Brown Township on mutual aid once more. Councilman Clark said we have to get the <br />price of an ambulance. Fire Chief Les Farmer said everything hinges an the 2009 budget, the <br />probationary firefighters can be probationary paramedics and they can staff one ambulance. <br />Council President Harris asked if they wanted to move forward with a resolution. Dave Davis <br />said paramedics were hard to find and hire. Council President Harris said he was zzot in favor of <br />a BLS ambulance. Councilman Cook made a motion to move forward with a resolution to get <br />ambulance service foundation, rules, and. regulations, looking at funding with nothing being <br />purchased at this time, and contingent on 2009 budget approval from the State. Councilman <br />Clark seconded the motion.. The motion carried 3-2 with Councilman Goodwin and Councilman <br />Langley opposed. <br />Legal: A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to <br />approve Ordinance #11, 2008, establishing the Town of Mooresville's Ordinance Violation <br />Bureau. Motion carried 5-0. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark to approve Resolution #10, 2008 Declaratory <br />Resolution for Alternative Machining, Inc, three year abatement on equipment. Councilman <br />Goodwin seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />A motion was made by Councihnan Cook with a second. by Councilman Clark to approve <br />Declaratory Resolution #11, 2008 three year abatement on equipment for Overton & Sons. <br />Motion carried 5-U. <br />Both abatements will have a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 1$a', at 6:30 P. M. for <br />Confirmatory Resolutions. <br />, ~i <br />I'~J <br />Attorney Currens said he had an assignment of purchase agreement for the Park District to <br />purchase the Romine property next to the Old Town Park. He had already talked to Jim <br />Ransome and Brent Callahan froze the Park District. Food & Beverage funds will be used for the <br />purchase. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve the purchase. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Les Farmer, Mooresville Fire Chief, told the council he would like to start a replacement <br />program for replacing two staff vehicles. One is a nine year old car and the other is a seven year <br />old truck using a lease purchase. He has enough money in his budget to do this in 2008 at a cast <br />of $15,200.00. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman <br />Clark to begin a lease purchase for staff cars for the Fire Department on a rotation. Motion <br />carried 5-0. The new fire station is ahead of schedule at present. <br />Animal Control, Mark Taylor, reported nineteen (19) calls, seven (7) impounds, and four (4) <br />returns. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve <br />payment of claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br />With no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Langley to adjourn the meeting. Matson carried <br />5~0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2UU8, at <br />6:30 P.
