~~ <br />Police: President Warthen asked if the council could have the statistics, citation, arrest <br />and incidents in their packets to be able to access the need for more officers. <br />Street Dept.: President Warthen said Mr. Beikman turned in a report on the curbs that are <br />needed in town, with quotes on replacing and installing new curbs. There are some <br />areas in town they xnay go to the Redevelopment Board and ask for TIF money to help <br />with the cost. Also they are looking at using Local Road and Street Fund to help with <br />the cost of replacing the curbs. The following are approximately what the cast will be to <br />put in these curbs. <br />Harrison St from where the curb stops at Franklin St - $74,000.00 <br />W. South. St. to curb, widen and overlay the street - 76,000.00 <br />He asked far these quotes be copied and put in the packets for next meeting. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty four (24) calls, five (5) impounds, <br />and three (3) returns. <br />Mativn was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Dolen, to approve <br />payment of claims. M. at the Mooresville Tawn Hall. <br />Council members present were: President Tam Warthen, John L. Clark, Toby Dolen, and <br />Eric Shields. Councilman Tray Bryant was absent. Attorney Tim Currens was present. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to <br />approve the minutes of Apri14, 2006. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Heather Warthen and Kelsey Bax from Moaresville High School appeared before the <br />Council to tell of their project. They were representing the Unity Group. for the <br />prevention of use of tobacco. The "Drop Dead" project is a dramatization at the mini <br />park downtown Moaresville on Monday, May l St at 3 :00 P. M. Rain date is May 4`~. A <br />student will drop aver every eight seconds to demonstrate how after a person dies from <br />using tobacco. <br />Next, Jim Berge, from Sagamore Benefits, introduced himself to the Town Couxicil. He <br />is requesting to quote on the health insurance. He would need a Business Associates <br />Agreement to honor the Hippa law. He would also need a census of employees using <br />their employee number and all claims for 2003, 2004, 2005, and so far this year. Council <br />President Tam Warthen wants the insurance quoted at a 15/12, 18/12, and 24/12. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to enter into <br />a Business Associates Agreement. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Les Farmer, Fire Chief, reported the little garage on the parking lot is full and asked if he <br />could co-ordinate a Town Auction. Les was appointed for the job. <br />
