7?~I <br />March 7, 2006 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at <br />6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Council members present were: President Tom Worthen, Troy Bryant, John L. Clark, <br />Toby Dolen, and Eric Shields. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim Currens <br />was present. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shields with a second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve minutes of February 21, 2006. Motion carried S-0, <br />Cliff Petty returned to the council with a quote on sanitary sewer to his future home in <br />Hadley Woodland. He also had four property owner's verbal agreement far easements. <br />The new quote from Swinney Bros. was $48,125.00; the original quote was for $68,000. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Shields with a second by Councilman Bryant to enter <br />into a developer availability agreement with Mr. Petty. Motion carried 5-0. Street <br />Superintendent Joe Beikman will confirm the numbers and come back to the council and <br />once the dollar amount is set a contract will be drawn up. <br />Ross Holloway appeared before the council on behalf of Meadow Lake Senior Living to <br />request a developer availability agreement for reimbursement. of $60,214.80 for a force <br />main and lift station. Everything will be dedicated to the Tawn. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Shields to enter into the agreement not <br />to go over $60,000 and it could be less. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Public Hearing for TOA, USA Confirmatory Resolution: No one was present in the <br />audience, so a motion was made by Councilman Clark with. a second by Councilman <br />Dolen to approve Confirmatory Resolution #4, 2006, for tax abatement for TOA, USA. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />John Taylor introduced tax abatement for General Shale. The amount of abated taxes <br />would be $737,000 on real property and $1,084,000 on personal property. This will <br />make the brick plant totally automatic. They will be hiring 25 to 30 new people and <br />robots will be used. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by <br />Councilman Dolen to approve Declaratory Resolution #5 for General Shale tax <br />abatement. Motion carried 5-0. The Confirmatory Public Hearing will be March 21, <br />2006. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Dolen with a second by Councilman Clark to <br />approve the Mooresville Junior Baseball League parade on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at 9 <br />A. M. Motion carried 5-0. <br />The second quotes for carpet at the New Town Hall were opened. They had been based <br />on the same exact specs. Floors 2 You $20,U$0.57 <br />Marion Adams $22,001.33 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bryant with a second by Councilman Clark to accept <br />the Floors 2 You quote. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Budget Talks: Town general budgets were gone thru and appropriations decreased as <br />follows: Town Court-$2,500 from Office Supplies <br />Town Ha11T$1,000 from Social Security Taxes <br />500 from Plan Comm. Supplies <br />.4,000 from Mosquito Spray <br />10,000 from Election Expense <br />5,000 from Building Mtnce. <br />
