°~~ <br />January 20, 2004 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at <br />6:30 P. M. at the .Mooresville Town Hall_ <br />Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Toby Dolcn, and John L. Clark. <br />Councilman Troy Bryant was absent. <br />Leroy Pickering froth First Baptist Church gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Dolen, a second by Councilman Clark to approve <br />minutes from January 6, 2004 meeting. Motion carried 3-0. <br />Unfinished business: Quotes from Engineering Firms on the design of the Ray Young <br />Subdivision. Two bids were received; Holloway Engineering and Surveying in the <br />amount of $9,900 plus direct expenses of IDEM application and plan printing- The other <br />is fronl:Ba.nning Enga.neer.ing l~or $10,500 with the same exceptions. President Warthen <br />said he would like to take these under advisement, he would like to have legal counsel <br />approve them. He went on to say Che last time an engineering firm came in there were <br />some small changes made that would affect both the engineering firm and the Town of <br />Mooresville in positive ways. Both. of these are proven companies and the Town has <br />used them in the past and he would like to make sure that both quotes say this proposal is <br />limited for 60 days. President Warthen said he would like to see a time ltne lu the <br />proposals within which the work. had to be completed. Council members agreed- <br />'President Wartheta had asked for price quotes for camera imaging to inspect the mains <br />and laterals that tie into the mains on the north end of Mooresville. One quote was <br />received :From a commercial sewer cleaning company and Joe Beikmxln was expecting <br />more quotes to be received. Requests were made for more information anal on Joe <br />Beiklttan's recommendation; Council President Warthen said they should wait until the <br />next Council nleeting_ He said so far the `light clean' one or two passes thru the main <br />before they run the camera thru was at a cost of forty cents per foot. '1"he televising <br />including videotaping would be forty-five cents per foot. President Warthen said he had <br />a phone number to call if anyone has a question they wantanswered- This will be at the <br />next council :meeting on February 3, 2003. <br />Other business: 1n the last meeting money was encumbered far Christmas Decorations. <br />President Warthen said Councilman Bryant was waiting on some more quotes before they <br />could name a vendor. There were quotes from two companies. 'I,he lower of the two <br />quotes was .from Edge Decorating located in Avon and they are the company that does <br />Plainrield's decorations. This company added an additional live percent to the thirty <br />percent discount to their price and Councilman Bryant is very confident with this <br />company, he has met with them and spoken to several other vendors and quality wise he <br />leas assured President Warthen this company has the highest quality of decoration. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Doletl and a second by Councilman Clark to accept <br />Edge Decoration as the vendor for the Christmas Decorations. Motion carried 3-0. <br />President Warthen told the council he had spoken to a couple of the plan commission <br />members and he still wants to sit down with the committee that helped to write the <br />comprehensive plan and he was sure they would want to do the same. He; said <br />Councilman Bryant had same input he wanted to be present for with the review of the <br />comprehensive plan and since he was absent tonight, President Warthen requested this <br />item. be cot~tinuud to the next Town Council meeting. Council agreed. <br />Appointments: Plan Cozzu~lission has three board members that are employees of the <br />Town of Mooresville. They are: Troy Bryant, Tim Bennett, and Jin1 Bntner_ President <br />Warthen said he had spoken to Tim Bennett and Tim Bruner and they were willing Co <br />serve again. He had not had a chance to spc~lk with Troy Bryant, but since he was not <br />here tonight they would draft h.im. These are council appointments- A motion was made <br />by Councihnart Dolen, a second. by Councilman Clark to accept all three. Motion carried <br />3-0. <br />
