9 2 , <br /> January 6ch, 2009 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 6:30 P. <br /> M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town council members present were: Mark Harris, Jeff Cook, John L Clark, Ryan Goodwin, <br /> and Tony Langley. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim Curren was present. <br /> Councilman Clark made a motion to approve the minutes of 12-16-08, and a second was made <br /> by Councilman Langley. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Reorganization: Councilman Langley motion to approve Councilman Goodwin for Council <br /> President. The motion died for lack of a second. A motion was made by Councilman Cook with <br /> a second by Councilman Clark to keep Mark Harris as Council President for 2009. The motion <br /> carried 3 to 2, Councilman Goodwin and Councilman Langley opposed. <br /> Legal: Tim Currens brought up the EDIT Plan.for 2009. A motion was made by Councilman <br /> Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clark to approve the same expenditures as in 2008. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. The council will sign at the next meeting. <br /> Attorney Currens gave each council member a list of appointments that need to be made for this <br /> year. The council felt they needed more time to get the appointments. This is tabled to the <br /> January 20ch meeting. <br /> Attorney Currens had Resolution 15, 2008 for a buyback of pensions for the Fire Department and <br /> Council President Mark Harris signed. Resolution 16, 2008 for a buyback of Police Department <br /> pensions was signed by Jeff Cook. <br /> Les Farmer, Fire Chief, gave a progress report on the construction of the new Fire Station. <br /> Dan Tingle, Wastewater Superintendent,brought three quotes for walled in storage tank per <br /> storm water regulations. The violation fee if it is not in compliance is$10,000 a day. <br /> 1. MacAllister $6,600.00 <br /> 2. Indiana Power and Service Supply $7,049.00 <br /> 3. Williams, Beck, and Hess $8,650.00 <br /> Councilman Goodwin made a motion to take the lowest bid of$6,600, second by Councilman <br /> Langley. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve a. <br /> transfer of unsafe building monies in the amount of$3,500 from General Town Hall Budget to <br /> the Unsafe Building Fund. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Animal Control officer Mark Taylor reported seventeen (17) calls, eight (8) impounds, and four <br /> (4)returns. <br /> I <br /> vlorgan County Economic Director, John Taylor, introduced Tricia Wray from Auto Zone to <br /> present a prograrn of discounts to the community which would include all departments in the <br /> Town. The Town would receive the best Zone pricing less 15%. All else is done on line. She <br /> said she would be happy to introduce the local Auto Zone person around to all the departments, <br /> This offer is for non-for-profit organizations. <br /> Councilman Goodwin reported the cemetery is at the end of a two year contract for mowing. He <br /> requested permission to advertise for bids for the mowing service. A motion was made by <br /> Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Clark to approve advertising for mowing bids. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve <br /> payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
