There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was made by <br /> Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to adjourn the meeting. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> �i <br /> January 20, 2009 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at 6:30 P. <br /> M. at the Mooresville Goverrunent Center. <br /> Council members present: President Mark Harris, Jeff Cook, John L. Clark,,Ryan Goodwin, and <br /> Tony Langley. All members were present. Town attorney Tim Currens was not present. <br /> Jim Taylor, Grace Church, gave the prayer. <br /> A motion was made to approve minutes of January 6, 2009 by Councilman Goodwin with a <br /> second by Councilman Clark. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to keep the <br /> appointments for Charles Berwick, Brian Anderson, and Darrell Brown on the Plan Commission <br /> Board. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A Presidential appointment for the Jim Ransome on the Park Board was made by Mark Harris. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to appoint <br /> Charles Berwick to the Police Commission for another term. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Les Farmer, Fire Chief, presented construction changes for the new fire station to the council for <br /> approval. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve the construction changes. Motion carved 5-0. <br /> The council signed the EDIT plan which had been approved previously. <br /> Fire Dept.: Les Farmer reported to the council they needed around $40,000 to furnish the new <br /> fire station. Council President Harris said that the Riverboat Fund could be used for this. Les <br /> said some of this cost could be absorbed by his 2009 budget. A motion was made by <br /> Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Clark to approve the expenditure of$40,000 <br /> from Riverboat Fund to furnish the new fire station. Motion carried 4-1. Councilman Langley <br /> opposed. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve <br /> budget line item transfers done automatically by the computer foie the end of 2008. Motion <br /> carried 5-0. <br /> Mark Taylor, animal control officer, reported twenty five (25) calls, five (5) impounds, and three <br /> (3)7etumed. <br /> ry <br /> Economic Development: John Taylor announced an Indiana small business development service <br /> workshop in April for entrepreneurs. Becky Skillman will send out a survey and invite as many <br /> people as can attend and want to attend. The workshop will include information about <br /> completing a work plan to take to a bank to get a loan, registering a business, etc: They are <br /> going to try to do the workshops quarterly this year. <br />
