5 <br /> Jolui Badger, Morgan County Farmers Market, appeared before the council to discuss the Town <br /> donating money for their market. He informed the council that Martinsville had donated $5,000 <br /> to there the night before at their meeting allus this an economic <br /> g g program. Councilman Langley <br /> thought vendors needed to have their money on the table. Council President Goodwin stated this <br /> was a deserving program and had a positive affect by using local fanners. His concern was in <br /> reference to other agencies conning forward looking for funds and staked he needed direction <br /> from the council. Councilman Langley said he wasn't prepared to make a motion tonight <br /> because they were missing two council members and he would like to have their input on the <br /> subject. Mr. Badger asked if the merchants downtown were able to come and support them. <br /> Council President Ryan said, yes if they wish, at the next meeting. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve the <br /> contract with Morgan County Economic Development and pay the $50,000. Councilman <br /> Langley seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Legal: <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve the <br /> Senior Citizens Contract. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman.Langley to approve <br /> Ordinance#5, 2010, illicit discharge ordinance to give the Town of Mooresville be in <br /> compliance with Storm water management and enforcement of requirements by the storm water <br /> department. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve <br /> Ordinance#6, 2010, a prerequisite of the grant application to have an ordinance established for <br /> fair housing. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to approve <br /> Resolution#3, 2010,to show for the grant process money the town is submitting on the local <br /> level and where the money will come from; TIF funds and State Revolving Loan. Motion - <br /> carried 3-0. <br /> Attorney Currens reported to the council the county had turned over a portion of Old 67 to the <br /> Town. He had a prepared acceptance for a portion of Old Highway 67 by Meadowlake from the <br /> county commissioners. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman <br /> Langley to approve the acceptance. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, gave the Council four quotes for a loader: <br /> Brandeis $127,562.00 with a trade in of$17,600.00 <br /> McCallister$136,353.00 with a trade in of$16,000.00 <br /> Rudd $129,997.00 with a trade in of$20,000.00 <br /> Holt $130,900.00 with a trade in of$12,500.00 <br /> Since the total council is not present this item is tabled to the next meeting. <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, told the council that now we have taken on a portion of Old <br /> St. Rd. 67, he has asked Wallace to get a quote to go ahead and pave north of the bridge down <br /> past Meadowlakes and up to the State right of way. This will cost somewhere between$15,000 <br /> and $20,000. <br /> Brent Callahan, Park Superintendent, aimounced he had signed a contract with Bill Jones for <br /> Fireworks on July 4, 2010. This is on a Sunday this year. Paul Uhls will be MC again. They <br /> also have two new playgrounds that they have purchased one at North Park and one at Pioneer <br /> Park. Each one has a capacity of 65 children. They have also purchased a diving board and <br /> stand, replaced a water heater, and painted the pool again. He thanked Joe Beikman and Dave <br /> Moore for sharing their equipment. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported sixteen (16) calls, six (6) impounds, and five (5) <br /> returns. <br />
