9 4 Morgan County EDC Director, Joy Sessing, reported going to a conference in <br /> which 23 states and 30 companies were exhibiting. She had discussions with 27 <br /> companies. She is currently working on an expansion of an existing company and <br /> working with an Australian company putting costs together. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to <br /> approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Harris with a second by Councilman Cook to <br /> adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on. Tuesday, June 1, <br /> 2010, at 6:30 P. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> June 1, 2010 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Mooresville Government <br /> Center. <br /> Council members present were: President, Ryan Goodwin and Councilmen John L. Clark, Jeff Cook and Mark <br /> Harris. Councilman Tony Langley was absent. Town Attorney, Tim Currens was also present. <br /> Randall Garing of LifePointe Church opened the meeting with prayer. <br /> The first item on the agenda was the Public Hearing on the Confirmatory Resolution for Mt. Olive's tax <br /> abatement. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Cook to approve Resolution 5-2010, a five <br /> year tax abatement for Mt. Olive in the amount of$170,000 for equipment. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> In other business, Council President Goodwin announced that the CDBG grant for the improvements to the <br /> Wastewater Treatment Plant was approved for the full amount of six million dollars. The bids for the project <br /> will be opened at the special meeting on June l Oth. Attorney, Tim Currens stated that the Redevelopment <br /> Commission had voted to contribute $1.25 million initially followed by $300,000 annually. He added that <br /> Chris Gale of HNTB should be able to give a tentative recommendation the Zune 15'11 meeting on the <br /> awarding of the construction bid and that the grant applicaf;,�u - ---- 'schedule. The grant money <br /> has to be spent within eighteen months. 'I Lt4A� l° /e4 <br /> Street Superintendent, Joe Beilman reported that Jackson Realty has received their bids on thAR 67 project <br /> and is wanting to post the bond to start their building project. They can't proceed until the Town awards the <br /> paving bid. Mr. Beilinan asked if the Council would consider approving an amount not to exceed for the <br /> project. The Council decided to discuss it at the Julie 10"'meeting. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor reported 29 calls, 5 impotulds and 3 returns. <br /> A motion for approval of payment of claims was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Harris. <br /> Motion carried 4-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at the time, a motion was made by Councilman <br /> Clark to adjourn the meeting. Motion was second by Councilman Barris and carried 4-0. <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be a special session on June 10, 2010 with the next <br /> regular session being June 15, 2010. Both will begin at 6:30 at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />
